Is that Why he's Sitting on the Bench w/NATHAN Being Applied to his "Injured" Ankle, Literally???... REEDopcorn:
The better team won. Spurs even without Parker are deeper and better coached. Rematch of last year's final it is. I tip San Antonio to get revenge this time.
The timeless wonder does it again. To you older guys how does this version of Duncan stack up to Kareem when he won his last title?
Has REED EVER Suggested Otherwise???... Keep Dreaming of Californicating w/the Likes of Andre Miller & Your Superfluously BEARDED ManCrush, Homegirl... REEDopcorn:
Its funny sometimes in defeat you appreciate certain players more. I've made fun of Westbrook ALOT for his shot selection and mindless turnovers... But he made a HUGE fan out of me during this series. The guy just has NO QUIT in him. He's not just some "athlete" trying to look pretty out there. He's CLUTCH... And I tip my hat off to him and I hope in the future he wins some championships(Though not with OKC). He deserves his own team... As for Durant, he's a mental midget... Always folds when his back is against the wall.
abdul jabbar was a shell of himself when the lakers beat detroit in the finals, he was riding coattails at that point. duncan has declined a lot but is still a key contributor.
Props on the Analogy, Because Kareem was the Guy REED Always MOST Compared Duncan To, as a Player... Kareem was A LOT More Athletic, but Fundamentally, they were Kindred Spirits....If REED's Not Mistaken, Kareem Played 20-22 Years, Loooooooonger than Duncan Has, Obviously, but REED Can Unequivocally State Duncan Plays Like he's MUCH Closer to his Prime than Kareem Did, @ a Similar Stage of his Career... Kareem is CRIMINALLY Looked Over in an All Time Sense, but Duncan has Definitely AGED BETTER, in REED's Opinion... REEDopcorn:
Peak for peak, Kareem was a better individual player than Duncan. Definitely more unstoppable as a scorer. But if I had all the right pieces for a championship team, and I needed a winner to build it around? I'd probably take Timmy.
That's just It, REED Never IMPLIES Shit...REED States EXACTLY What he Means when he Posts... Fans like YOU Act as if EVERY Decision Pop Makes is the Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread...He Benched Parker Because he KNEW the Spurs COULDN'T Be Eliminated Tonight & Game 7 Would Be on HIS Homecourt, PERIOD... But Since the Spurs Ended Up Winning, Cats like YOU Will Then Pretend it was Some WISE Decision that Soothsaying Pop Made, KNOWING the Spurs Would Win Anyways... REEDopcorn:
Westbrook missed the majority of his shots..got stripped on the biggest possession of the game and committed 3 turnovers in the waning moments of 4th quarter and OT and you call him clutch and Durant a mental midget. Perhaps if the level of scrutiny was on a level playing field you'd see this statement as ridiculous.
He benched Parker because he was ineffective and thus the move contributed to them having a greater chance of winning.
I've grown to like KD, and he's without question a better player than WB, but I'm pretty disappointed in how he played in this years PO's, save for a few games when he was in beast mode. It did often seem like he deferred to WB to carry the team. The greats would never deffer to a non-great like WB to carry the team when it mattered. KD had a awesome Reg Season, but a let down PO's.
Some people are suggesting Durant may have been beaten down from the extremely heavy minutes he played during the regular season carrying the team, especially with Westrbook out. I'd say it's a bit telling that Westbrook had his single greatest postseason ever by far in a year he basically was playing the old man Wade schedule even though the guy is like 25. He played only 37 games and sat back to backs like Wade did. In the playoffs hes fresh and explodes while KD looks beat down....he faded heavily in this OT and he played 51 minutes. This season was probably hard for him..he opened up the year as an elite defensive player and at the end into the playoffs regressed to a poor one. He needs to get a stronger core and go to the gym and build his body up for the long haul. Minute management also would be wise.
That's just It, the Level of Scrutiny HAS Never & WILL Never Be on a Level Paying Field...By Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar, Russell Westbrook is Criticized MORE than Kevin Durant is & it's NOT Even Close... Are You SERIOUSLY Suggesting that ISN'T the Case???... OKC Is Durant's Team As it SHOULD Be, but Westbrook is Undeniably the Heart & Soul of that Shit...Dude had 34, 7, 8 & 6 Steals yet YOU Find FAULT w/his Game 6 Performance???...w/Out Westbrook's CLUTCH STEAL, REVERSE LAYUP & FREE THROWS @ the End of the 4th, the Game Doesn't Even Go to OT, Homey... REEDopcorn:
BALDERDASH... Westbrook's Had No Fewer than 3 Fucking Knee Surgeries in the Last YEAR, TLC...It's DOUBTFUL you Realize this, but Until Getting CHEAP SHOTTED by Patrick Beverley's Bitch Ass, Westbrook NEVER Missed an NBA Game...Dude Simply DOES NOT Miss Games or Bullshit his Way Through Injuries like DWade or DRose Have, Unless it's 100% LEGIT... Russell Westbrook DOES NOT Derrick Rose or Dwyane Wade his Way Through Injuries, Sorry...Absolutely ZERO Evidence Supporting that Notion... To Even SUGGEST Westbrook &/or OKC has Done that is ASININE... REEDopcorn:
While I am not a basketball expert at all, I think a tendency like this tells pretty much about the coach
westbrook is a great competitor and possibly the top athlete in the league. a true warrior and a great player. but he is not a great point guard and his game doesnt mesh well with durants and it prevents durant from doing his best, at times
And Durant didn't turn it over at crucial moments? Not to to mention his lack of defense being exposed in this series, he scored 0 points in OT... That is NOT the performance of an MVP. Say what you want about Westbrook, but if it wasn't for him, this game doesn't go into OT.
I could tell from the first quarter Thunder was going to lose this game. Just something about the flow didn't feel like it was going their way. Anyway, I agree Durant was very disappointing. I get that defenses key on you more in the playoffs but this dude was unguardable in the regular season yet in the playoffs he's getting single covered by Leonard and all of a sudden can't do shit about it. Plus he was constantly falling asleep on defensive assignments or out of position on defense and he never seemed like he tried to put his team on his back. Thunder played their best basketball when they moved the ball and shared the offense with the whole team. They were always at their worst playing iso-fucking-hero ball. Here's hoping they can Brooks.
