The efficiency ratings sure aren't completely useless. Kobe had more games with bad shooting percentages and taking too much shots than he should have than 40+ games I think. And I'm sure a lot of 40+ were kinda like 11-28 4-12 15-16. So one could argue, that the scoring load could have been put on two other guys with mre efficient shooting selection and Kobe being a little more assist-minded.

you are just pointing out exceptions to the rule. of course if you pick a team with a hole at shooting guard with a top 5 center and a top 5 power forward then bryant would be a better pickup. if you look at any balanced team where they have players of equal ability, whether poor, average or great, then duncan will be the more valuable asset. that is a true measure of who is better, greater, more valuable. if you want we can run down all 32 teams rosters in the league currently and see who they'd rather have out of the two guys in question in their respective primes.
Agree. Miami has been playing strong ball recently. I think the Spurs will need some time to settle in. I like the Spurs but favour Miami slightly
I think Miami will have the mental edge this time and the disparity in athleticism and star power is greater than the disparity in championship experience. Still, I'll root for the Spurs until the end. Too bad the Melos and Durants of the league will never consider San Antonio as a destination. Would be great to have someone carry Duncan's torch after he retires.
Sloppy game so far. Spurs need more possession for their shots, and when they rush it, bad things happen. This is gonna come down to coaching and tactics.
