I know it's not always relevant but Matthyse and Maidana met four times in the amateurs. Maidana won three and one was a draw.

Another point. Devon Alexander outpointed both Matthyse and Maidana and lost to Bradley and Porter.

If Rios loses his next fight he is finished in theese conversations and will become a stepping stone.

Lol @ Alexander out pointing Matthysse. That was one of the worst hometown decisions of recent years. Matthysse won 7-3 and scored a KD of Alexandria.

That is why I said "outpointed" rather than beat. I am a Matthysse fan. Believe me, I know it was garbage. Just putting this in perspective when it comes to ranking the fighters from 140-147.

Lol. I have a hard time picturing Maidana fighting under amateur rules.

    Quite interesting.

Based upon what we've seen of the two as pros it's kind of what you'd expect. On the other hand it did not resemble any amateur fight I've seen in a long time.

I guess I'm so accustomed to the pitty patter stuff that that Olympic boxing scene has become.
