Marquez is excellent and highly accomplished even aside from Pacquiao. Tszyu is no one's Norton, just Cool Vince and Hatton's bitch.
not trolling he's far closer to Pacman's Norton than he is to the mythical fighter you guys always go on and on about This guy gets picked by people to beat Julio Cesar Chavez... That is preposterous...
Marquez has never come close to beating "the shit out of" or "flattening" a fighter as good as Nonito Donaire unless you count his steroid-enhanced KO of the guy whose number he has (who was tripping over his own feet and stumbling toward him) The rest of the forum are Marquez's GAY MISTRESS
You mean aside from moving up from 126->147, being a 5 division champion & beating many quality fighters along the way in a 20+ year career? Outboxing Pac isn't out of line with the rest of his career, it's in line with his entire career. Norton's wins are also tarnished by the fact that he faced a diminished Ali, Marquez beat a hot streaking Pac in his prime.
GTFOH with that mikE bullshit Where are these remarkable wins outside of the ONE (count it - ONE) victory over Pacquiao??? Faded Barrera he barely beat? Derrick Gainer? Katsidis? Diaz? Alvarado? Ancient Casamayor? Wow... Murderer's Row, that. Can definitely see how that compares favorably to Julio Cesar Chavez:bangh: This place has gone looney when Marquez/Chavez is even a conversation to begin with. Yeah, Ali was washed up when Norton beat him:bears:... Guy never did fuck all after 1973 except regain the title from one of the most intimidating fighters in history
I don't even hate JMM. I just laugh at how the Pac fights have crazily distorted his legacy. He has the guy's number, frankly. Of course, it's netted him a total of one victory. Take away the Pac fights (again, only one of these is a win) and his resume is that of an excellent fighter, but certainly not an all-time great... He's rapidly becoming the most overrated fighter of my time
Seriously. I think he's a candidate for the most overrated fighter in boxing history. Absurdly padded record, and never beat a true elite fighter despite being given the opportunity, unlike Tyson for example. Yet he gets mentioned in the same sentence as monsters like Duran. "Like I said before" our boy Roberto would have slapped him all around the ring like the ugly little burrito salesman he is. Marquez beat a true elite fighter in Pacquiao, by KO no less, in his late 30's. Has performed amazingly across a range of weights, right up until the age of 40. It's not a stretch at all to consider him greater than Chavez.
sounds like you concerning the legendary marquez. you just gonna overlook his victory over Agapito Sanchez (R.I.P.) ?
