I saw the Jersey Boys on Friday. It was ok. The Broadway play was outstanding, but it just didn't translate well on film. The guy playing Tommy Devito completely overshadows the guy playing Frankie Valli. And Christopher Walken plays the same character he plays in every movie he's in, but that character is always badass, and the same applies here.

I'd say it's worth waiting until it's on Cable.

Miscast, badly written, badly directed and ill conceived. Other than that it was good.

Skyfall- 9/10 Craig to me is easily the best Bond ever, and the movie itself is entertaining. Bardem was a great villian.

Think Like A Man - Black romantic comedy. Thought it was a very good movie and dispite the actors involved felt more romantic comedy than just a black comedy film which is what it looks like from the outside. Still it was a good movie. Good character development, dialogue, and story. There wasn't much laugh out loud funny but it had it's moments and was a good movie. 6.5/10.

    Edge of Tomorrow
    - Not bad for an action sci-fi but felt gimmicky at times. The biggest problem I felt the film had was that the action sequences felt at odds with the protagonist's mission. Although this should have been an action sci-fi the story and the mission seemed to get in the actions way. The action was worked into the story but it was on such a small scale that the action seemed to take a back seat to everything else like the comedy, the time shifts, the mission, etc. This kind of ruined the flow of the story for me and I didn't enjoy it as much as I think I should have. By the end it almost felt more sci-fi drama then sci-fi action to me but the problem is the story wasn't strong enough for it to take that route. Still though, it wasn't a bad movie at all. 6/10

If given the choice which of these movies to sit through and watch again from start to finish I'd pick Think Like A Man.

    So?

This thread is for rating the last film you watched... If that's the last film he watched, it belongs here... At best, he could be asked to copy/paste that review into that thread

You only post in this thread if there is no topic about the movie out there and you dont feel like making one. But there is already a whole discussion about Edge of Tomorrow taking place with people's reviews that should be continued.

The Counselor - Based on the reviews I read, I figured this might be a dark horse with the people involved. Too gritty/pulpy for the critics but well made, kinetic and plenty fun to watch. Like say, a Tony Scott film. I was wrong.

Ridley Scott directing, Cormac McCarthy writing, Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and plenty of other cameos. A lot of my favorite people involved. This was a hot steaming pile of shit. Ridley trying to make a movie like his brother, and being completely out of his element.

It sure looked pretty, like any Ridley Scott movie, but this was clunky as fuck. Made zip bit of sense. The dialogue was awful, and I felt bad for Fassbender, forcing himself to cry through scenes that felt laughable. The one on one story telling scenes you would see in any random Tony Scott film, was awkwardly awful (Cameron Diaz was especially bad), no matter the talent of the actor involved.

Maybe Ridley was still mourning the loss of his brother and dropped the ball on this one.

    4/10

Yeah, I was actually wondering what the rules were in this thread. I thought about putting it in the EoT thread but probably more from laziness than anything else just stuck it here. I'll copy it in there and try to stick to those rules, not because I fear the wraith of ye Ant-A-Knee, but more for continuity's sake.

This is a thread about rating the last film you watched

There are no rules posted anywhere regarding "oh, make you sure you chewck to see if any topics were started about this film first before you rate it here"

    what is this faggot crap?

    this is retarded

the only solution that makes any sense with what you've written above is to lock this thread and make a rule where every time someone rates a film they have to start a new thread.

I actually always check to see if there is already a thread on a movie before I make one of it. I think it's retarded when I do check on a movie so I can put a review in there and it turns out there are 3 fucking threads of the same movie. So now what do I do, pick the one with the most reply's, the newest one, or do I just post my review in all 3? If more people did a search like that we wouldn't have an influx of multiple threads for the same film.

I hear what Ant-A-Knee is saying, this thread is turning the movie forum back to the single thread it used to be. When Godfather came up with the movie forum idea everyone wanted it but I was initially against it and thought we should just stick to the thread. I'm big enough to admit I was wrong but now it looks like most everyone would rather go back to the lazy movie thread ways, as they now seem to be taking the forum for granted.

    Anthony's got no case, goddamnit

This thread should have been locked from the moment it was started if we are going to have this "you can't review a film outside of a thread dedicated to that film"... How many films in this thread already violate that rule??

Clogg is hilarious. The man is acting like im on a tirade and threatening bans and shit. Im just trying to keep the place organized.

This thread should be about the last movie you watched, but not really a review. Just a rating. 5/10, etc. If you are going to make a whole review in this thread when there is already a thread out there, what is the point of having this forum? I think this thread is excellent for older movies that everyone has already scene and movies people are to make a thread about.

I actually prefer people make a thread about older movies too. I think every movie should have it's own thread. But im not being a dick or fanatical about it. to put it more accurately, im not being the dick clogg is trying to make me out to be.

I think the only way to truly fix this thread is to make new rules for it or close it all together. I will send you, clogg & lib 4 Lib a few ideas in PM to get some feedback.
