Unreal. I thought the August 9 date at the Barclay's Center in NY was originally designated for that fight. Then they were adding other fights to it (Danny Garcia vs. TBA.) This Kell Brook dude is a con artist. Waiting for a belt to become vacant. Disgusting.

It sounds as if Brook's father was talking shite because he has now said that Brook has signed the contract and his son is going to sign the contract today (tuesday), but boxing scene has stated that both parties have signed and the contract has been forwarded to the IBF. Both parties are also happy with random drug testing and the fight must take place before September 10.

 

I really hope this fight IS on. Watching mook get punched to shit will be extremely enjoyable viewing.

I'm confident Porter will kick his ass, but I am interested to see Porter's chin get tested. Not that Brook is a big puncher, but he's got considerably more pop than Alexandra, and Paulie. But assuming Porter handles his pop, it'll be a beat down, because Brook has a shitty chin.

 

I hope it's on too, seeing the scrubby Ingle style exposed by world class fighters is fun.

I think Brook will win, not because he's all that, but because Porter hasn't impressed me all that much.

 

How come? I don't rate him THAT highly, but beating Alexander and Paulie in 1 sided fashion is impressive. Certainly far more impressive than anything Brook has done.

The results were impressive, the performances not so much. I don't think Brook fights in the typical Ingle style either, it seems to have more solid fundamentals. Porter just came in swinging with these ridiculous wide punches (powerful, admittedly), Brook will be able to get off hard, straight shots down the middle pretty frequently IMO and earn a stoppage.

Fair enough on Porter. He did look a bit wild and what not, not exactly a finely tuned fighting machine, but the results can't be denied.

I agree with you that Brook does seem a bit more fundamentally solid than other Ingle fighters, but I just don't trust Ingle fighters. They are all bitches, for whatever reason. I expect Brook to be a scared bitch, and Porter to just swarm and dominate him.
