Bron CAN Dominate to that Extreme Still, he'll just Have to PICK & CHOOSE When to Blast... Going Back to Cleveland Allows Bron to REST More During the Regular Season...Cut his Minutes, Maybe Pull a Popovich & REST Him 3-5 Games just Because...He'll STILL Be Bron-Bron Come Playoff Time... Unlike Miami, Cleveland WON'T Need Bron to Score 28-30 PER NIGHT, just to Be Competitive... Coming Home will Allow Bron to Dominate when he NEEDS To & Age GRACEFULLY...For the Next 2-3 Years, he'll STILL Be the Best Player in the League & @ the Tail End of this Deal, he'll Be Where Kobe & Wade are Now... REED:cheer:
KD was the best player in the league last year, at least during the REGULAR SEASON. It wasn't like in 2011 when Rose won, but Lebron still played like the best in the league. KD looked like the best player in the league last year. So, it's no LOCK that Lebron will be the best player in the league for years to come.
Just read lebron didn't tell Miami nor Cleveland of his decision. They found out like the rest of us did. Cleveland was the best choice without a doubt. Younger legs in Kyrie, a guy whose game will get better unlike Wade whose game will only decline. If they can pull off the Love deal, he's the rebounder Bosh wasn't and can stroke the three. REED...what if lebron goes back and doesn't win "not 1?'
I'd be pretty shocked if Kyrie ever reached the level of a prime Wade. D-Wade was a SPECIAL player until his body gave out. He was still a special player in 2011, and was the ONLY reason they even won 2 games off the Mavs. After that though, he started slowly falling off a cliff. Love is a better player than Bosh though. Bosh might be a better defender, at times, but that's literally all he does better than Love.
Hmmmm???... According to ESPN Correspondent, Mark Schwartz, Bron Notified Miami 1st, THEN Let Cleveland Know, Mere MINUTES Prior to Sports Illustrated Breaking the Story... Pat Riley & Mickey Arison Knew PRIOR to Anybody Else... If Bron Signs a 5 Year Deal, REED WOULDN'T Bet Against Him Winning @ Least 2...Cleveland's YOUNG Enough to CARRY the Regular Season Road, Allowing form Bron to Be BRON, Come Playoff Time... Bron Wins 2 MORE Rings, Minimum, in the Next 5 Years.... REED:cheer:
My question is/was, what if they don't win. What then? So basically no one knows what happened. ESPN corrected their story about the Heat portion. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11203729/cleveland-cavaliers-learned-lebron-james-decision-online The Cleveland Cavaliers found out they were getting LeBron James back the same way the rest of the world did, when they read James' essay that was posted on Sports Illustrated's website Friday afternoon, sources said. James spoke with Heat president Pat Riley and owner Micky Arison on Friday morning on the phone before James' first-person essay was posted, sources said. ESPN.com reported incorrectly earlier that the Heat did not know of the decision until it was posted and were not expecting it. The Heat had left their meeting with James earlier this week in Las Vegas feeling good about their chances to retain him, even if it was on a short-term deal.
Durant Had a SPECTACULAR Season, but Let's NOT Forget, Bron had Won like 4 of the Last 5 MVP Awards... Voters were BORED w/Bron Winning it AND Bron Himself Struggled to Offset the COMPLACENCY that Naturally Sets in w/Regular Season Games in Milwaukee or Minnesota, When You've Been as WILDLY Successful as he Has... Kevin Durant has a Better REGULAR SEASON than LeBron James, but @ NO Point was he the BETTER Player, Which Bron Demonstrated During their Head to Head Meetings... In Cleveland, Bron will Be UP for Some Games & Not Soooo Much for Others...Nonetheless, he's THE Best Basketball Player on the Planet, as REED Types & That Won't DEFINITIVELY Change for Another 2-3 Years... REED:elmo:
I tend to agree with this. Great players reach a certain level and you're accustomed to seeing it. The one guy can elevate his game in a particular season and get more attention while the great player doesn't have a slip in his game. Jordan was clearly the best player in the league for years and yet Barkley and Malone won MVP's during the last six years (and titles) in Chicago. Jordan could have easily won those two MVP's as well. Granted both are Hall of Fame players but Jordan is clearly on another level especially considering neither won titles due to losing to Jordan in the finals.
He May or May Not Reach the Level of a PRIME DWade, but Kyrie Irving WILL Be an NBA SUPERSTAR, Before Looooooooong... By the Time his 5 Year Deal has Expired, he'll Be 1 of THE Top 5 Players in the League, in REED's Opinion... REED:cheer:
If Cleveland DOESN'T Win @ All, w/Bron Coming Back, it'll SOMEWHAT Affect His Legacy, but Not Much... He's "Righting" a "Wrong", in the Court of Public Opinion & NO ONE Can Fault him for that, Considering the Hometown Angle...Today is ALREADY The Greatest Day in the History of Cleveland Sports, According to Many Media Sorts from that Area...& Bron ALREADY Has 2 Championship Rings that CAN'T Be Taken from Him, No Matter What... Whatever Bron Accomplishes in Cleveland is GRAVY...1 Ring in Cleveland Would Be BIGGER than the 2 he Won in Miami...& if, If, IF Cleveland Strings 2 or More 2Gether, Jordan Lovers will Get ANTSY 1nce Again... REED:elmo:
Both Barkley and Hakeem played on an absurdly high level in 93. Hence, BOTH were voted over MJ for MVP. However, nobody ever questioned whether or not they were actually BETTER than Jordan. It's different than KD vs Lebron.
That's PRECISELY the Parellel REED was Thinking Of... Jordan Held the Competition RingLESS & Always Let them Know What Time it Was, During Head to Head Regular Season Meetings...When You've Accumulated 3-4 MVP's, Shit Starts Taking Up SPACE on the Living Room Mantle... @ the Same Time, MVP Voters Get BORED Anointing the Same Dude, Year, After Year, After Year, After Year... Durant's NIPPING at Bron's Heels for Sure, just like Bron Nipped @ Kobe's...But Kobe STILL Fought Bron a Bit, Before RELINQUISHING Supremacy...Bron's Got @ LEAST 2 More Seasons Before Durant Supplants Him, Maybe 3.... Durant's ONLY 25 or Whatever...His Time IS Coming...Especially if he BEEFS UP Somewhat & Plays w/his Back to the Basket More, as he Did his 1 Year at the University of Texas... REED:elmo:
As a Jordan fan, I don't feel threatened by Lebron anymore. I could never see Michael scoring 8 points in a finals game. Mike elevated his game when it mattered most SEVERAL levels, and he did it CONSISTENTLY. Lebron can elevate his game to an ABSURDLY high level at times, and when he does, he's as good as anybody ever, but he's never done so as CONSISTENTLY and as EFFORTLESSLY as Jordan. That'll always be the difference. Jordan AVERAGED 41 points in the 93 finals vs the Suns. In the FINALS.
In a world where almost EVERY legendary athlete is overrated to some extent, Michael Jordan is perhaps one of the FEW who truly was EVERYTHING he was hyped to be. I'm a lifetime Knicks fan, and as a kid watching Mike dismantle my team time and time again, I always had mixed emotions. On one hand, I both hated and feared him at the same time. On the other hand, as just a fan of the SPORT, I simply watched him with my jaw dropped most of the time. He was THAT good, and that bothers Lebron fans. I don't know why. Lebron is an AMAZING player.
The league reversed whom deserved the MVP in 97 and 98. In 97, they gave it to Malone, when MJ deserved it. In 98, they gave it to MJ, and Malone deserved it.
The Suns Also SUCKED Defensively, X...They were ALL OFFENSE...They Had DANfuckingMAJERLE Trying to Guard Jordan, Homeyalm:... CONTEXT is the Issue...As Publicized as Jordan's Career was, it PALES in Comparison to the Way Bron's Is...Bron is NITPICKED to a Degree Jordan NEVER was, Even when the "Bad Boy" Pistons were BOUNCING 'dat Ass from the Playoffs, Year After Year... Bron is DIFFERENT from Jordan...Different Era, Body Type, STYLE of Play, Position, Expectations, etc...As Such, Bron's PATH will Also Be Different... He's ALREADY Lost in the Finals, Something Jordan NEVER Did; but he Also Took an INFERIOR Team to the Finals EARLIER than Jordan Ever Took the Bulls to the Finals...Bron's Also Played in 4 CONSECUTIVE Finals, Something Jordan's NEVER Done... Bron's Got a STRONG 5 Years Remaining, to ADD to his Legacy...To Act as if it's ALREADY Toooooo Late for a 29 Year Old, of Bron's Ilk, to MATCH or SURPASS Jordan, is Offbase, Bro... REED:elmo:
Only thing people nitpick on him is for disappearing in the 4rth quater once... What else do people have against him?
Dude, REED VIVIDLY Recalls Watching Magic & Bird Playing Each Other in COLLEGE...REED VIVIDLY Recalls Len Bias DOMINATING the ACC, Rendering Jordan an AFTERTHOUGHT, Basically... There's NATHAN Anybody Can Tell REED about Jordan (On-Court), that he DOESN'T Already Know...REED's Watched MOST of his Meaningful Games, AS THEY HAPPENED, & was Privy to the Media Discussions about his Legacy, as he Accumulated Each of his 6 Championships... Michael Jordan's THE Best Player to EVER Play the Game...NOBODY Has to Remind REED of That...REED Witnessed it w/his Own Eye's... But There's a Thing Called EVOLUTION...Society, Technology, Athletes, etc., IMPROVE...REED Isn't Even Saying Bron's BETTER than Jordan, but Anybody Denying Bron has a CHANCE of Being Better, is LYING to Themselves... The ONLY Thing REED has "Against" Jordan is this Bullshit Notion he's UNTOUCHABLE, UNATTAINABLE...As if NATHAN a Basketball Player EVER Does, for the Remainder of Basketball's Existence, Can EVER Match of Surpass What Jordan Did... It's Like Arguing w/Old Fart Boxing Fans about Sugar Ray Robinson... REEDalm:
Apparently the Bulls are interested in Wade, he's a Chi Town native after all. The Heat are also trying to keep Bosh, who's still attached to the idea of 're-signing.
MVP is All About Who Had "The Best" REGULAR SEASON, a Particular Year...It's VERY Possible for Guys to Have a BETTER Regular Season than Jordan or Bron, yet Still NOT Be Better Players... We Saw Just That This Past Season, w/Durant & Bron...Do YOU Think Kevin Durants's BETTER than LeBron James???... REED:scratcher:
Bosh Could NOW Get a Max Contract & Revert to Being a 20 & 10 Guy, in Miami, but he WOULDN'T Come Close to Winning a Championship... Dude Needs to Bounce to Houston...They NEED Bosh's 15-18pts, 7-10 Rebounds, his HELP in the Paint & his Perimeter Shot...w/Or w/Out Chandler Parsons... REED:kidcool:
I just think when you say two more rings and Lebron is at worst @ Jordans level is something a guy very fond of Lebron on not very fond of Jordan would say. But you even went as far as saying even the biggest Jordan fans would have to admit that. I mean think about it. Lebron would have two more rings to go to equal Jordan in that department and even the biggest Jordan fans would say, yeah he's better now. You can clearly see debating with us all that the opinions are very wide spread. The biggest Bron haters would probably still say Jordan was better if Lebron had 8 rings. That would be stupid, but I think it's almost as stupid as saying otherwise with Lebron having "only" four. I think we ain't THAT far from each other on the subject, just that ONE comment threw me a bit off. But I guess that doesn't warrant for this discussion to fill another ten pages. :: Cheers Brother REED!
I don't know how you guys who have been following basketball all your lives see it, but over here I get to read a lot about how basketball has developed much since the 90s, not to mention the 80s. With allowed zone defense and more and more athletic players the ball moves more, guys run faster, the big centers don't dominate the paint anymore the same way and every guy on the floor has to be able to do a little bit of everything, instead of concentrating on one or two roles. Now I am sure Jordan with all his talent and dedication could figure out a way to be a dominant player in this era too but some suspect he wouldn't be scoring 40+ as regularly as he could in the late 80s. As said, I don't know if any of this is true since I don't know basketball as well as you guys, but this is what I have read plenty lately
