Sorry... As "athletic" as guys are today I still don't see anyone with the flash and style that Jordan had. Especially on his drive and dunk plays. Most of the time he dunked over guys much bigger than him...usually 7 footers...Ewing got the worst of it. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/8gBSYqK4HkM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Jordan had unbelievable body control. Probably the best body control ever. And his first step was just wicked. The ONLY thing I'll say about Kobe is that he possibly had nicer handles than Jordan, but Mike didn't need fancy handles, because he just blew by guys so effortlessly.
My opinions of Kobe and Wade both reversed. I was a staunch Kobe hater up until about 08, then I became a fan. Conversely, I was a HUGE HUGE Wade fan while he was a solo star. But after the Big 3 pairing, he became a prick.
Exactly, Wade pre-collusion was not a prick. He became one when Bron joined. I hated Kobe but after Dallas swept the Lakers in '11 I knew he was over the hill and I was able to appreciate his game and his winning mentality, plus him beating my Spurs didn't helped.
Speaking of the Spurs, that's the point when I really became a believer in Kobe's game. I remember the 01 playoffs against the Spurs. In that series, Kobe was the most unstoppable of any guard not named Jordan. After that, I knew he was an awesome player, but still didn't like him.
I believe Sean Elliot was mostly checking Kobe in that series. Bowen got torched by Bryant also. Who in the Hell was it on here who said that Harden at 23 was better than Kobe at 23? I'm STILL laughing about that.
sean elliot was washed up by then. bowen wasnt on that squad. spurs had some weak ass guards that year, but bryant did have a great series against them. also helps when teams cant focus on him because there is oneal to deal with. just noticed journeyman antonio daniels started all 4 games at the 2 guard. and a geriatric terry porter at the point
I must admit, I'm confused as to WHY the Heat would pay that much money for Chris Bosh.:scratcher: Only reason I can think of is they wanted to fuck over the Houston Rockets. Bosh is only going to get older, and you know Wade is going to want some good money now that Lebron has left. I think they would be better off trying to upgrade the bench seeing as they're likely to lose Ray Allen, and since Pau Gasol ain't going to Miami, not to mention that Melo is probably gonna stay in NY now. From where I stand, Miami is still a playoff team, but probably a middle of the table type team now. I can see them getting in 4-5th place and probably crashing out when they face one of the Pacers, Bulls, or Cavs. Rockets will still be a playoff team. Don't see them going to the finals but they'll be a pain in the ass to deal with.
Miami will be in the playoffs, only because the East is pathetic. Bosh wouldn't lead a team to the playoffs in the west.
miami will make the playoffs if they get deng, and wade plays as many games as he did last year at the same level. if they dont get deng, wade is gonna get burnt out and hurt and i bet they miss postseason even in a weak east
Shoulda went to Chi-town. Melo + Noah + a semi-healthy Rose = The biggest threat to the Cavs in the east.
howard, anthony, parsons, harden, beverly = best starting 5 in league if rose comes back to his MVP form then chicago would be the place, i doubt that happens
Coaching matters too. Don't underestimate the fact that Thibs is a terrific coach, and McHale is a horrible coach. Bulls were a tough matchup for Lebron, even WITHOUT Rose. You add Melo to the mix, and they're a HUGE threat to the Cavs. Rose wouldn't have to be back to his elite form. He'll probably never regain the form he had in 2011, but he wouldn't have to if Melo was around. He could be the 2nd option on offense, which is better suited for him at this point anyway.
