No, not THE Holly Holm?!

 

Yeah and women don't have one punch KO power. You can always say a guy like Floyd, Roy or Wladimir could make things interesting early but I don't see that with Holm. She doesn't have the accuracy to to time Ronda coming in, who will immidiately rush for the takedown.

 

I've seen a few of Holm's fights. Like every girl so far, she's got flaws, but she is very good and dynamic.

She's really already one of the best mma fighters who began as top boxers.

 

Holly Holm just signed a contract to get thrown in a meat grinder.

If there is any shred of promise to her UFC career, it's the fact that she trains at Jackson's-Winklejohn's so she's probably already learning to run and be boring.

 

He tried with all of them. Did you miss Condit-Diaz? Jackson turned the Natural Born Killer into an Ethiopian marathoner,

Hell, for a few fights they tried get Diego Sanchez, one of most blood and hits brawlers in the sport to "box" more.

Not really worth debating, just an opinion.

 

Maybe but it was the first time I saw Condit in a boring fight.

I'm not saying it wasn't a great strategy. Just boring and unlike Condit.

 

Gina Carano will sign for a fight or two next. She shouldn't risk her beautiful face and movie career.

 

Women's MMA has progressed well past Carano's peak and there is no reason to believe she's still at her peak.

 

Carano is nothing more than a 'name' at this point, but the UFC is trying to grow their women's division, so signing a 'name' like Carano makes a lot of sense.

The problem with Carano is that she had problems making 145 when she was 25 or 26 years old. No way she fights at 135 now that she's 32.

But good for the UFC for bringing in some big names to help milk the $$$ out their biggest draw.

In all honesty, Holms and Carano aren't even on the same level with Meisha Tate or Alexis Davis.

In the History of Women's Boxing, VERY FEW have Displayed TRUE 1 Shot Punching Power, as Royness was Pointing Out...Ann Wolfe Could Crack, Lucia Rijker had Pretty Good Power, Christy Martin had Decent Pop, but Primarily, Women AREN'T KO'ing Each Other w/Single Shots, for Whatever Reason...

So Even w/Ronda's LACK of Head Movement, Propensity to EAT Shots & Holm's HIGH Boxing Acumen, it's Doubtful She Hurts or Deters Ronda from Getting Close Enough to END Her...

Bell Rings, Ronda's VERY Aggressive, Holm Peppers Ronda w/Some Jabs, Drops a BOMB or 2 on Ronda, but EVENTUALLY, Ronda Grabs a Hold of Her or Flat Out Takes her Down...@ that Point, Fight's OVER...

Holm's ONLY Chance is to "Chuck Liddell" Ronda, ie., Using Boxing & Takedown Defense...AVOID Clinches @ All Costs & Stay OFF the Ground...But REED Can't See that Strategy Working for More than a Round or So...
