That fight'll never happen anyway, trust me. Andrade has no name, and the wrong style for Canelo. In a perfect world, I wish we could see Canelo vs GGG. Thousands and thousands of weeping Mexican bitches after that one.
When guys like Devon Alexander and Sergio Mora think you have been robbed, you have almost certainly lost.
Even though I had Lara winning, I find it fucking HILARIOUS that Devon the Fake cries robbery. Alexander lost CLEAR AS DAY to both Matthysse and Kotelnik, and got hometown decisions in both.
Does anyone think all these "streams" could be part of the reason we're paying $60-70 per fight? It's like health care and everything else.
Canelo did get pretty lucky with that left uppercut that cut Lara, and changed the tide. Up until that cut, I saw Lara beginning to somewhat pick him apart.
Lara fought like a puss. Only thing I liked was how he changed the extension on his jab back and forth. And he cranked a few nice right hooks.
Lara said he would be Trinidad and Canelo would be Oscar. Ironically Lara does for 12 rounds what Oscar done for 3.
It was a bad one. But there's been plenty of bad ones in history. Even if you hate Lara, you must admit, the Williams decision was one of the worst ever. Tall Paul got COMPLETELY dominated in that fight.
This fight reminded me A LOT of Dirrell vs Froch. Neither guy really came out on top. Lara, like Dirrell, had too many lulls. And Canelo, like Froch, looked absolutely inept and clueless at times.
The main thing I have learned from Cuban boxing school tonight is to bring my bicycle. There's more cycling than punching.
I don't care much for Rigo, but there's a HUGE difference between a masterclass he put on Donaire vs what Lara did tonight. Bad two weeks for Cuban's though. If you're a Cuban right now, you must hate Terrance Crawford and Vegas judges.
One thing I am sure of tonight is that Pac would whup Alvarez's ass. Canelo doesn't cut the ring off well and Manny would have those fast combos on Canelos face all night. Would be interesting to see if Arum and Oscar would put it together.
Even now. I don't buy Pac slipping at all. JMM is just a bad style match up. He looked as good in the Bradley rematch as he did in the first fight. Pac would be a nightmare for Canelo.
I honestly wasn't too impressed with him in the Braddles rematch. Probably because, I don't think much of Braddles. If you don't think Manny has slipped at all, I question your sanity. His last prime performance was against Marg. That version of Pac is GONE. The Pac of the Marg fight beats 15 shades of shit outta Crapnelo. Now? Canelo has a good shot.
Canelo would beat the shit out of margarito. He has too much skill. Canelo will always beat a face first brawler. Bradley has a difficult style and can make adjustments to win. Pacquiao won the rematch easier than he won the first fight imo.
Come back and see Canelo wins a controversial split decision. Gee I wonder what the odds on that were. I almost feel like an idiot for not taking that bet.
I though it was a draw or 7-5 Canelo but I wouldn't have had a problem had Lara gotten it. I liked the fight, it was a tactical one and had twists in plot. Lara swept the first three, then Alvarez, who had clearly taken the early rounds off, began to work and seemed to slow Lara down with his body shots but got tired himself and Lara fought back in 9 and 10. I thought Alvarez snapped round 11 and the last one was close. 117-111 Canelo was a weird card, apparently that judge doesn't like movement at all. Canelo is a limited fighter but I don't get all the hate he gets. He is still a developing kid at 24 even though he has had shitload of pro fights. Also it was a huge ring (perhaps the infamous 24 ft ring) and Canelo didn't have to take the fight but he went on with it and came out with a W
Canelo isn't a developing kid. He's in his prime right now. At this point, he is what he is. He's talented if you stand in front of him, but limited if you give him proper movement and angles. I remember at 23, people said Khan was still developing. And I said then, no, this is as good as he's gonna get. It's the same with Canelo. And no, I'm not calling him the same level fighter. Khan is a fuckin bum. Canelo is a much better fighter than him. Just saying, Alvarez is very much in his prime years right now. People hate Canelo for two reasons. For one, he's a GOOD fighter who gets hyped like a great one. He clearly doesn't have the tools of a great. Two, he seems to have a subtle arrogance about him. And that subtle arrogance would be cool if he was a great fighter, but being that he's only good, it makes you wanna see him lose.
I agree here. I think Pac even now has enough to eat Canelo. The hand speed and angles would be problematic for Canelo but Canelo has enough pop to hurt Pac so it would be interesting.
