I like the assortment of young talent Chelsea seems to be keen on bringing in. Well managed club in my book.

 

It's more fun. Us QPR lot are a good bunch too, and we beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge when they were on fire and we were shit.

 

True, but once in a while they will develop some good players that will take the team forward. Then you can enjoy the off season when those players are sold to richer clubs and you start over. artie:

Plenty of high end clubs you could support without that type of history... Arsenal is a popular and successful side that seems to have support across a broad spectrum... ManUre is a front-runners club for sure, but there's nothing overtly political among their general support... Liverpool has a storied history and pretty neutral politics... Any of those clubs are pretty much always going to be pretty good at worst

Of course, if you don't care about always winding up having your players bought out by richer teams, no matter how good your season was, you could support outstanding, passionate people's clubs like Everton (Caligula and Joemul's team, both of them passionate supporters... They are probably my favorite EPL side), QPR (Slice and Jimmy... Sure, you're never going to win the EPL and even a top 4 finish would be a miracle, but the support is true blue, no glory hunters there) ... Or, you could go even further and support Celtic (with Hut and I) where you can watch your team casually win their shitty league every year and the only meaningful matches are in European competitions because your greatest rival imploded and you are dying for them to return so you have SOMETHING to give a shit about

Or, you could be smart and root for somebody good like Liverpool (Irish, TKO) or Arsenal (Joe King, Andrew)::

But never Chelsea... You may as well go whole hog and support Rangers at that point

 

Newcastle is a likable club too... of course they are heartbreakers historically

 

It's not that simple. By and large the players want to go to those clubs as they are more prestigious, typically play in a higher level of competition (mainly Champions league) and offer better salaries.

So even if they would like to keep their players they either can't because of how the contract is written or will end up with a miserable guy half assing it and making life miserable until they are forced to sell.

Yeah, Celtic are well on top now. I'm not really too fussed. This lot are about as good as Inverness, we'll breeze them in....erm. Edinburgh.

 

If Celtic can't easily dispatch this level of opponent, it doesn't bode well for our chances in this competition
