It was somewhat unsporting of Gondo to jump on the guy, but not an outright sucker punch. Like Neil said, they were face to face about to fight. A sucker punch is when the fighter is looking at the ref or something, like Ortiz with Floyd.
In fairness to Rigondull, the combo looked fine to me. On the other hand, if you want me to be impressed because he KO'd some bum that was just concussed by the top of his dome 10 seconds earlier and was on shaky legs when the combo landed, go fuck yourself. :notallthere:
I didn't see a problem with that. The fight was on and the opponent had his hands up and was ready to fight, unlike Ortiz against PBF
For the record I was saying he got a raw deal because of the headbutt... I didn't see anything wrong with rigo going for the kill after the fact
I think Santa Cruz would be bring out the best in Rigo, and would be a fight the Cuban wins by KO. Too bad it won't happen.
In this fight, protect yourself at all times meant making sure you get enough time to recover from the headbutt.
The ref is a incompetent, not only did he rushed Sod back in too quickly after the headbutt, he stopped the fight even though h was up before 10 alm: Still, I can't see how people can claim it wasn't a cheap shot, it may not have been the worst one ever, but it was still low to launch that combo so soon after touching gloves.
Rigondeaux Did NATHAN Wrong... He TOUCHED Dudes Glove w/his Right, THEN Threw a Right Hook/Left Hook Combo...Had he FEINTED or IGNORED the Glove Touch, Some of You "Sucker Punch" Advocates Would have a Point...As Is, You DON'T... PROTECT Yourself at ALL Times, PERIOD... Rigondeaux was Fighting on the Non-Televised Portion of an HBO Televised, Zou Shiming UNDERCARD; a Dude that COULDN'T Carry his Jockstrap, Mouthpiece, Spitbucket or Used Condom...w/Out Question, Rigondeaux was LOOKING to Make a Statement...Dude PROVIDED an Opportunity & Rigondeaux JUMPED On It... As REED Stated in 1 of the Other Threads, Karategym JUMPED INTO Rigondeaux, CAUSING the Headbutt...THEN, Rigondeaux Glove Touched Him...What MORE Should he have Done???...BABY SAT him the Remainder of the Round, which is PRECISELY What he Gets Criticized For Doing, Already???... As for Floyd-Ortiz, SAMEfuckingTHING... Ortiz WANTED OUT of the Fight...1st & Foremost, he INTENTIONALLY Rammed the Top of his Head Into Floyd's Chin/Jaw Area, which PROMPTED the Halt in Action...As Soon as he Did it, Ortiz Walks Up to Floyd, HUGS & KISSES Him... Joe Cortez Deducts a Point, Ortiz Then GLOVE TOUCHES Floyd (Floyd Reciprocates), Cortez Forces Ortiz to a Neutral Corner...Ortiz Then Walks Out of the Corner & DOUBLE Glove Touches Floyd, who OBLIGES...Floyd Even Rests his Left Glove on Ortiz's Chest, Before Finally Hitting him w/a Left...What MORE was Floyd Supposed to Do; ANNOUNCE to Ortiz he was about to Resume Fighting???... Anyways, The Left Hurt Ortiz Soooooooooooo Much, he IMMEDIATELY Looks Over @ Cortez (DOESN'T Stagger or Anything Remotely Close to Exhibiting "Hurt" Body Language), then Floyd Drops him w/a Right... No "Sucker Punch" @ All...PROTECT Yourself @ ALL Times...Nobody was MORE Relieved than Ortiz, when that Fight was Stopped...He WANTED OUT... On that Note, it's Awfully Convenient How AGGRESSIVE Karategym Became, AFTER he Knew the Fight was OVER... REED::
Agreed with REED. Especially about May-Ortiz. Victoria clearly wanted out of the fight, and was quite content to be counted out. He could have gotten up. Floyd was picking him apart, and Ortiz knew he was in way over his head.
I thik Mayweather was justifed to suckerpunch ortiz since the sucker just deliberately headbutted him a few second earlier. In this case, the head butt was clearly accidental. Guillermo should have taken a few step back after touching gloves, before resumng punching. I think he crossed the line of sportmanship.
Dude EXTENDED his Glove, Rigondeaux GLOVE TOUCHED Him, in Response...That was MORE than Enough... @ the End of the Day, it's a FIGHT, Isn't It???...Could Rigondeaux have Been Shown MORE Sportsmanship???...Absolutely...SHOULD Rigondeaux have Shown More Sportsmanship???...That's Up to the INDIVIDUAL Fighter to Determine... Fact is, Top Rank Found a SACRIFICIAL Lamb for Rigondeaux, who they KNEW He'd KO @ Some Point, Who ALREADY Resided in Asia, which Cut Costs on Flights & Whatnot...On Top of All That, Top Rank CAN'T Sell Rigondeaux to the ONLY Elite Boxing Network they have Access To (HBO), so they Had to PAWN Him Off to a 3rd World T.V. Network... This was a SHOWCASE Bout for Rigondeaux, Which Went WRONG, in Terms of INTENT...But Make NO Mistake, Karategym WAS NOT Going to Challenge or Threaten Rigondeaux in the LEAST, just Peep his KO %...He was Very Much a HIRED LOSER... If the SAME Scenario Occurred in Rigondeaux-Donaire, REED Would've Been VERY Disappointed, but in a Fight of THIS "Magnitude"???::... On to the NEXT 1, Bro...Rigondeaux was Going to STOP Karategym in 3-4 Rounds MAX, Anyways... REED:kidcool:

I hear this often from you. "He would've knocked him out anyway." "He was going to win anyway." All I can say is, fights are fought for a reason. And fighters deserve a fair chance whether you think they're being "out - schooled by the elite fighter...and they aren't on the same level..."
