Cotto is boxing's THIRD biggest attraction after Floyd & Pacquiao. He will fight whoever he wants at whatever weight he wants. No one can pressure him to make any fight. And at this stage of the twilight of his career he will surely pick the remaining fights that will bring more money to his bank account with the less risk of injury. Neither scenario fits a GGG fight.

    Huh?

It DID make him a Heavyweight... He won the title, he was a Heavyweight. How formidable he was or wasn't isn't relevant... He fought at the weight and he beat the consensus true champion... He was absolutely a heavyweight

160 is one of the weakest divisions in boxing. As long as GGG stays at that weight and looks to fight guys south of the division his KO record will continue.

I'm not as thrilled by him as some guys are, especially HBO.

"Continues to fight guys south of his division"??

His last four opponents were all stopped and they were all middleweights, one of them has even fought at Super Middleweight

    What is this shit?

I wondered the same damn thing. Geale is a career middleweight, and the previous 3 are very much middleweights too, with Stevens I think having fought at 168 yeah.

Well we will see if Froch is offered a fight and takes it. He certainly is known for fighting all comers so I believe he would take it if offered.

Stevens AND Macklin both fought at Super Middleweight before

There's some real Kazakh hatred happening here

My post answers the below question.

As far as 168 or above, I'd like to see him in with a few different guys to see how he holds up. Even someone like Bika would be a good test for him. I'm not saying he'd lose, but I'd like to see him in with a guy who will pop him back and won't fold after receiving the first hard shot.

It's not as though he's beaten a long list of tough/hard punching guys.

I'm assuming this isn't directed toward me. Just because I'm not salivating and on my knees over the guy doesn't make me a hater.

If you are claiming he's only knocking out Junior Middleweights, you're at the very least misinformed

He's knocking out jr. middleweights and marginal guys.

Stevens is and was always shit and Macklin had lost 2 of his previous three. So yes, both fought at 168 previously but neither were world beaters.

he's done what he's supposed to do against the level of guys he's fought. Like Larry Merchant said after Shane Mosley KO'd Adrian Stone, "So what?!?"

right, like I said... Which Junior Middleweights has he fought in his last four fights?

Not one, so what are you talking about?

He's knocking out "marginal guys"? Which Middleweight would you like to see him fight? He is, after all, a Middleweight... Was Geale not ranked in the top 5? Name a middleweight you would consider non-marginal

Golov is fighting every middle who's willing to fight him. It seems Kid Chocolate Shit Quillin has a retraining order out against GGG or something.

Spinks was NEVER a TRUE Heavyweight, Dude...

Just Cause a Guy Spends Time @ a Weight Class or Even WINS a Title There, DOES NOT Make Them a TRUE Member of Said Weight Class...

Spinks was a Much of a TRUE Heavyweight as Roy Jones Was...

He was a world champ at the weight, for fuck's sake:lol:

If you fight in a weight class and win a goddamned championship in it, you've clearly demonstrated you belong there... This is ridiculous... Who's a TRUE heavyweight? Joe Hipp? Mike Spinks weighed over 200 pounds and won the championship of the world, he was a heavyweight

Miguel Cotto is the lineal Middleweight Champion, that makes him a Middleweight

How about the bit of "looks to fight guys south of his division"? That's either hating or ignorance... Take your pick

Did you see Oscars tweet about quillin fighting GGG. Oscar would be an accomplice to murder if he ever let that happen.

I like GGG and his comp is average at best. I want to see how good he is. His haters appear to be more afraid of him beating the shit out of their hero's than actually seeing him lose.

Criticizing him doesn't make someone a hater. Picking every opportunity to make such ridiculous claims however does. :nono:

Yeah but probably not against G³. Not that i really blame him. If he can fight Crapnelo it almost surely means more money and is a fight he can win.

Cotto aint gonna do it without a catch weight and Joonyah won't be able to make whatever weight they negotiate anyway.
