his suggestion that the club change their kit hoop scheme to red alternated with blue and a large diagonal orange stripe extending from the shoulder to the hip might raise a few eyebrows

Arsenal buys Calum Chambers from Southampton. They were really decimated this summer but have about 90m to buy new talent.

Who is going to want to go there now though?

They may as well have sold the entire club and decided to go into a different line of business.

Hilarious video of Fernado Torres missing from 2 feet in front of the goal. What the hell happened to that guy?

Liverpool got the much better end of that $50 million Chelsea forked over for them. It helped them land Suarez who has now provided the cash to shore up the defensive side.

Any thoughts on where Torres goes from here?

Torres has forgotten how to play football. It's a really weird and steep decline. I'd probably feel sorry for him if he didn't play for those cunts. I reckon he might go back to Atletico Madrid.

In other sports when guys fall off that quickly I'm usually not surprised to find they're alcoholics or on drugs. You're right, how far and quickly he's fallen has been astounding. He's won the titles he went there for but enjoyed them from the bench.

He was not too bad at the last Euro but yeah he's fallen off. He still shows flashes of his old self from time to time. Not good enough for somebody of his cost though.

Now that Chelsea has brought in Costa and Drogba as backup i'm kind of surprised we haven't heard more news about a Torres transfer. My guess is not too many clubs want to pay his salary, let alone a transfer fee on top of it. Maybe Chelsea are stuck with him. Could be worse though. They're a rich club and can use Torres for cup games and so on.

Gary fucking Hooper could get Chelsea 7 goals in a season and it wouldn't cost 50 million

That's nuts. I wonder what the breakdown is of cost per goal. He was the best striker in the world around 2009 IMO, he literally dropped off like a shit into the toilet. Curious as to how much of it is mental as opposed to physical.

No way to ever know. It probably doesn't help his case playing under Mourinho.

Did anyone watch the blind sprinting on the commonwealth games there. That was touching and nice. I'm having a wee gooey moment here.

well, Chelsea paid 50 million for him... I have no idea what his salary is, but the transfer cost alone is 2.5 Million for every league goal scored:l2:

 Completely fair, but we're really enjoying them. The BBC news is being presented from Glasgow and it's fucking SUNNY! And news broadcasts keep starting with the word 'Glasgow' then never mentioning knife crime or alcoholism once!

You did have to go through airport security to get in. I tried to hide my antique '7 quid off ebay' phone under my wallet when i put it in the tray but i think everyone saw it.
