Yeah, Muzse needs to start giving answers on account of his random, hate filled bullshit. 2 pertinent questions. 1) Who does he need to fight at 160 in order to prove himself? 2) Who did he fight in his previous 4 fights that was coming up in weight?
Quillin is shit and I'd expect him to get dominated but I'd like to see the fight. Let him clean out the division. I just think he's better served by beating all the young guys in the division rather than the old heads like Cotto and Sam Soliman. Clearly both are closer to the end than prime of their career.
Mind you...the Ishida fight was a little over a year ago which is 5 fights ago. It's not as though it was 5 years ago. Bottom line, you're framing the question around your argument rather than looking at his recent past. You're acting as though I brought up his dominating performance over Kassim Ouma. I'm referencing a fight from LAST YEAR.
You said he "keeps KOing Junior Middleweights" ... The implication of that statement is clear... Yet his last four opponents were all KOd and all four were middleweights (two of them have fought at SUPER Middleweight) ... If his record is artificially propped up via junior middleweights, why are his last 4 opponents all middleweights who were knocked out?
So let me get this straight... If I'd said this Friday or early Saturday afternoon you'd agree with the statement. Because I referenced a fight from 16 months ago. GGG has fought more times in the past 16 months than Mayweather and Cotto have fought in more than two years. So why are you so beholden to 4 fights? Obviously because it blows up your argument. As I said, we're talking about a fight from last year. :scratcher: I will say, I hadn't paid much attention to boxing lately. Had no idea the GGG supahead's were working themselves into a Floyd or Manny type groupie frenzy.
Is this a serious post? Make it 5 fights if you like and it becomes 4 out of 5 of his last opponents were full-fledged middleweights who were KOd Would that suddenly make your asinine statement about junior middleweights a perceptive one? Of course not I didn't introduce the narrative, you did... you said he's just boosting his numbers by knocking out junior middleweights... This struck me as an absurd POV given that the last 4 guys he has fought were all middleweights... That's where "4" came from, I didn't just arbitrarily pick it... if a guy has 4 KOs in a row against guys who are 160 pounds, it seems monumentally foolish to say "he's just propping up his record by knocking out guys who weigh 154", don't you think? If you said it Friday, it would have been three straight 160 pounders knocked out and you'd still look ridiculous This isn't nuthugging, it's just basic logic and sense. 3 fights ago, Mayweather was PROPPING UP HIS RECORD AGAINST A JUNIOR LIGHTWEIGHT! OUTRAGE!
Lineal, Schmineal... Roy Jones Won A Heavyweight Title...Did that Make him a Heavyweight???...Of Course Not...Why Does the Word "Lineal" Make All the Difference To You???... You're Completely IGNORING the SIZE of the Fighter just Because the Word "Lineal" is Stamped on his Ass???... REED:kidcool:
Below is what I said in it's entirety. Somewhere along the line you got stuck on jr. middleweights and the past four fights. "Like I said before" it's done solely to protect your point, regardless of how little it has to do with what I actually said. One would think you'd recall precisely what i said since it wasn't said last year...but since it's more than four posts ago I can understand why ya'll musta forgot. "HOWEVER" You're droning on as if I said he's only fighting Jr. middleweights. He's knocking out jr. middleweights and marginal guys. Stevens is and was always shit and Macklin had lost 2 of his previous three. So yes, both fought at 168 previously but neither were world beaters. he's done what he's supposed to do against the level of guys he's fought. Like Larry Merchant said after Shane Mosley KO'd Adrian Stone, "So what?!?"
Again, the Attraction was Andre Ward, the HOMETOWN Guy, in his 1st Title Fight... Had Ward Been Fighting "T.B.A." for the VACANT World Title, the NOVELTY of it Would've Still Resulted in 10,000... REED:kidcool:
It's easy enough to prove. How many tickets did he sell for Green, Bika, and Doorson? My guess is less than Kessler, and less than Gaybox just did against Geale.
What did Roy Jones weigh when he beat John Ruiz? What did Miguel Cotto weigh when he beat Martinez? You want to talk size, let's talk size... If you weigh-in at 160, you are a middleweight, a true middleweight (whatever that means) When Jones fought Ruiz, the heavyweight minimum was still 190 pounds... did he weigh more than 190 pounds or not? Whether or not Jones or Cotto are/were really GOOD Middleweights/Heavyweights is not relevant ... Cotto is THE Middleweight Champion of the world, his next fight is supposed to be at that weight... He's a TRUE middleweight right now... It's funny, to me, that you want Cotto to get a free pass from fighting the guy because he's just a Fisher Price lineal middleweight champion and not a true middleweight, but you demand that Golovkin prove himself to you by moving up to a division where you don't seem to mind that he won't be a TRUE Super Middleweight and taking on the best man there
REED's Never Seen Anything Like It... LITERALLY, Normally Esteemed Posters have Been Quoted Saying, "Yeah, I Know he Hasn't Fought Anybody, but You can JUST TELL he's the Goods"... WhatTHEFUCK is That???:l2:... People like to Talk about Floyd & his "Proxy Wins"...GGG's had a Proxy CAREER, Thus Faaaaaar... REED:hut:
he's knocking out junior middleweights (5 opponents ago) and marginal guys (Geale and Macklin both rated in the top 10 easily) ... I then asked you who he needs to fight at 160 and you gave me three guys including Quillin who you picked to get knocked out and described as "shit"... so if you are willfully ignoring the fact that 1 out of his last 5 opponents was actually in any way a junior middleweight (making the first part of your statement pretty dumb) and then essentially saying that every other middleweight in the world is shit, what is stopping you from just admitting that there's nothing this guy can do at 160 to convince you he's the goods?
he's fought and kicked the shit out of every ranked middleweight that's been willing to get in there with him there's not a middleweight in the world he could destroy that would "prove" him to you
I just don't think it's that relevant, I think it being a good opponent was the deciding factor. If Ward was that popular against anyone, scrubs, it would have been proven in the fights since Kessler. Manny and Floyd's numbers didn't nosedive after their first title fight, they ROSE ::
I'll answer this with another post that goes more than 4 posts deep so I'm certain it's lost on you by now. I said Quillen is shit and I'd expect him to beat Quillin. I also said I'd rather see him clean out the division by beating the younger guys rather than feasting on guys like Cotto and Sam Soliman who are past their prime. The middleweight division is shit. There's no doubt about that. He should be able to beat these guys fairly easily. It's what i'd expect him to do.
LOL, so no matter what, the guy is not that good because the division is shit... If it isn't the division, it's junior middleweights... have I got that right? You don't think much of him, but you expect him to be a dominant champ... very interesting
Fair Enough... So If/When a Cotto vs. Hagler, Cotto vs. Hopkins or Cotto vs. Monzon Thread is Started in the Mythical Matchup Forum, Don't Say a Fucking Word about Size, or you will have EXPOSED your Hypocrisy... If You REALLY Believe Cotto's a Fucking Middleweight, Don't Say SHIT about Size in ANY Mythical Matchup he has vs a Middleweight, Dude... Micheal Spinks WAS NOT a Fucking Heavyweight...Roy Jones WAS NOT a Fucking Heavyweight...Carefully Picking & Choosing BEATABLE Guys from a Higher Weight Class DOES NOT Necessarily Make a Fighter a TRUE Member of that Weight Class... It's NOT a Difficult Concept to Grasp, Whatsoever... REED's Only "Demanding" Golovkin Move Up Because 160 is a SHIT Division...Soooooo Shitty, a SMALL Welterweight was Able to Move Up & Win the Title from a Career Loooooong Jr. Middle, Who You've NEVER Had the Least Bit of Respect For... REED:wack:
Again, another poor attempt to paraphrase what I've said. I never said he wasn't that good and/or didn't think much of him. I said he's doing what he's supposed to do in a weak division. I also said I'm not as thrilled as other people are including HBO. Are you finding it easier to attempt to make your points based on what you think I've said rather than what I've actually said?
:wo: One could be a "big middleweight" or a "small middleweight" and still be a middleweight Same thing with heavyweights or any weights
In what way am I misrepresenting your POV on the guy? You criticized him for knocking out "Junior middleweights and marginal guys" That was disingenuous, but whatever... I ask who he should fight... You say you want him to clean out the division but since you expect him to do that anyway, it won't really matter all that much That is precisely your position, is it not?
mayweather jr or pac could fight cotto in september at 160 and take the "lineal MW title" from him, or from canelo if he beat cotto. does that make them middleweights? cotto is like 5'6" and golovkin is 5'11," plus golovkin's style is terrible for cotto anyway. do i blame golovkin for calling him out? no, it's an easy fight & it'd be a big payday for him. but personally, it's not a fight i care to see & it's not a fight that's going to happen. and if it somehow does & golovkin beats cotto, i won't be impressed. hell, assuming chavez jr actually manages to make weight, i wouldn't be surprised if he beat cotto. i'd assume the only reason cotto is even fighting at 160 is because cotto-chavez jr is a big money fight. cotto came in at 155 against martinez. as REED said, it was purely an opportunistic move, martinez was ripe for the taking. repeat after me: COTTO IS NOT A MIDDLEWEIGHT
Funny... GGG knocks out Macklin in June 2013 and it's a big deal...he KO'd Ishida three months prior and it's not open for discussion. :cheer:
Ward is not bigger than golovkin. In all the pics have seen of them together, their's barely a difference between them. Peoples are so incoherent, they cry that their is too many divisions in boxing, yet act like their is a big difference in size between each division.
