It is still ironic. Floyd had looked good in fights prior to Maidana, and nowhere near his age, and you were saying Maidana was a total scrub before he fought Floyd ::

i said the same thing. maidana lost to khan, and not one single person picked him to beat floyd jr. nobody predicted maidana was even going to give him a hard fight. i still maintain khan gives floyd real problems with his speed and reach early
I bet Floyd looks much better in the rematch, and against whoever he fights next. I don't think Floyd looked old, I think he was just caught off guard by Maidana's ferocity and weird, unpredictable style.
