The Scottish "Championship"... Attempting to keep up with the twists and turns in this saga is a mindfuck, but my assumption is that if Rangers win the league, they get promoted to the SPL ... I could be wrong

I wonder what percentage of Celtics fans hope Rangers stay down forever vs those that would like to have them back for the competition alone.

That was an absolute horror show for Shellick. They aren't quite out yet but they are damn close. They were incredibly bad.

Celtic need Rangers back ASAP. The lack of competition seems to be hurting them really badly.

I'm sure a lot of Celtic supporters feel the same way but I imagine (could be wrong on this) there is still a sizeable contingent who don't mind the status quo. The status quo being the boat Rangers are in, not Celtic's current form.

Sensible people like hut and I have been dying for them to be back for a long time... If the internet is any indication, a sickening percentage of supporters hope they stay down because they are imbeciles

but I'm not at ground zero like brother hut so maybe it's less grim there than it is amongst those of us who support the club from many miles away

Rangers simply must achieve promotion if we are going to be a viable side in any way outside of Scotland

Maybe if you invested in Rangers their climb to the top would be expedited and in the end help Celtic ...

Think of it as the ends justifying the means.

It's understandable that you couldn't attend each shareholder meeting so you could send Hut as your proxy.

Excellent striker but I think they overpaid. I hope I'm wrong though.

Irish made a good point earlier about Chelsea getting more for Lukaku and Luiz than Liverpool did for Suarez. At the very least Everton made out better than PSG though.

Time will tell. He's only 21 years old. Everton fans are very happy about this. No one is claiming he is going to dominate the league or anything but he's young and has done well so far and will improve in his mid 20s. I like this move as do most Everton supporters.

Suarez is world class but you have to take his past into consideration when talking about what he's worth. If he wasn't a serial biter and a racist prick he'd be worth more. His next suspension after this one is whenever he loses his mind again.

Didn't realize the game was in New York or I would have known by the fact that it is still daylight that it was tape delayed.

Now you know why you lost the prediction contest.

The rest of us put in our picks after we knew the results. We figured watching the games on VHS may have clued you in to the fact the match was previously recorded.

    I lost?

Oh, the WC. I will defend my Premier League title this season. I won't use the SYSTEM until January 1 to give other people a chance to try to build a lead.

Lukaku was brilliant against America... I know his consistency/dedication has been questioned but there's no doubt he has loads of ability... Everton may have overpaid based on what we know for sure about him but as Caligula said, he's still only 21 and the wisdom of the investment is yet to be determined

Not sure what that has to do with the Premier League making a joke of promotion/relegation.

Of course they brand themselves like that, I'd assume the other major league's do as well.

I said it at the time and I'll say it again. Celtic need Rangers, that along with the CL is the only selling point. When was the last time Celtic signed an established decent player.

Hut is right, we need a northern or Celtic league, simliar to the Rabo league (Rugby)

Ye will defend yer title like Everton defended against Soothampton's Kevin Davies back in '97...

    (j/k)

Actually, there's been a loadae beeling aboot Soothampton recently, wi' the exception o' Le Tissier, Saints have awways been a selling club wi' the likes o' Shearer, Floowers and Davies going tae they arch buying nemesis, Blackburn. Noo Liverpool and Arsenal pick oot the choice flesh from Davey Jones' Bones (that's both a mangerial and nautical reference).

Soothapton will continae tae survive and produce bonny players from they stellar academy so SEE YOU Liverpool!

No' even the end o' July and it's a bleak ootlook fer the rest o' the season... that's why punters should look tae the only show in toon - the Scoattish Championship fer the excitement. Ah make this bold prediction noo - the Scoattish Championship will have higher attendance than the SPL and be far more exciting.

As fer a Celtic League... good luck wi' that laddie. Personally, Ah'd rather droon

Thats a low water mark for Celtic, worse even than Artmedia however number of years ago.
Spending less every year, and expecting results to improve, is not a rational approach.
I would love to see Celtic as part of the EPL, it's their only path to re-establishing themselves as one of the best clubs in Europe.

Problem is that UEFA wouldn't allow a league like that to exist under their present system... On top of that, even the other option (Celtic joining the EPL) would require a lot of arm-twisting and hand-wringing... The Welsh clubs that play in the English pyramid seem very much to be the exception to the rules and that very well may be just a quirk of history as much as anything

On the encouraging side of things, I have seen remarks from quite a few club chairmen, managers, directors, etc. of EPL sides over the years who seem to like the idea of Celtic in the EPL, but they don't really have a say in the matter when you get down to brass tacks
