Looks like this will be fun.

 

Hope Cormier is harder to take down when they get in the cage.

Normally in these situations just the gesture of someone trying to step between the fighters will put an end to it, but Jones clearly wasn't going to be stopped from getting to Cormier.

In the long run, both guys are mentally tough, tried and tested athletes so I doubt it will impact either of them come fight time.

I may be in the minority, but we've seen so many pre-fight scuffles in boxing, and now MMA, that they really don't make me anticipate a fight anymore than I already did. I want to see the fight because it's two Top 5 P4P fighters going against each other in the prime of their careers for the title. I don't need anything else to sell the fight for me.

yeah i agree, and there was people in between too, you don't want to be out there throwing some vicious much to injure yourself and others couple months before your fight

 

i'm beginning to like jones more now. i'm glad that nice guy image is gone and he's now really being himself. they interviewed both guys after that brawl on fox sports and he looked all pissed after the interview when he walked off the set.

 

It's the first time I've seen that middle brother mentality from Jones. I was a fan already but seeing that real edge come out magnified it for me.

I don't think they really dislike each other that much.

Cormier seems to have some insecurities that Jones brings out of him and both are hyper competitive but I don't think it's a real hate relationship.


Cormier throwing his dress shoe was probably the most hilarious thing I've ever seen in a skirmish.
