From what I've read about Balotelli the man is actually a lunatic.

I think it sort of shows how much teams are hurting for good strikers right now.

    Options Watson, options.

Sturridge has been excellent but injury prone, we are in desperate need of a backup. A solid 12 months from Mario and we go again next transfer window. We still have the bulk of the Suarez fee.

I did not want Cavani for 50 Million. I did not want Eto'o full stop. Benzema was not for sale but I don't rate him either way. Hames was never going to happen. A fit Falcao would have been an amazing signing, even a 12 month loan but for 20 million a season??
Truth be told I was resigned to not signing a striker this window. The more I think about Balotelli @ 16, it makes sense. Worse case scenario we sell him for 10 in January

The difference between Edel and Mad Mario, the latter has proved* it on the big stage. (15 minutes in 2012) :nana:

    Actually the full sign reads:

    THIS
    IS
    ANFIELD
    ***NO WOGS***
    ***NO IRISH***
    **YEAH THATS**
    ** YOU ORTHO**

Limited-liability gamble is key. Can you think of any other striker who could potentially do a job for us? 16 on Mario is better than 40 million on the likes of Higuan

I'm not so sure about that. It's not just about goals vs money spent. Balotelli brings along extra baggage.

Of course he does but can you give me an alternative. It's going to be next summer before we can activate Rues 25 million buyout

Yeah, on the surface he'll come, score 15 odd goals, you'll break even moving him on to Galatasaray or Rubin Kazan in 18 months, everyone wins.....but the spill over in terms of morale etc from his obscene cuntishness will be impossible to gauge/quantify.

And that sort of thing is utter nonsense to speculate about given not a soul here has any idea of what goes on in those locker rooms.

Oh I'm sure your tabloids will put you in the know, since you are an expert on the inner workings of football locker room and complex relationships between groups of people outside of the pitch.

After all, a few leaks to the press and tabloids spewing unsubstantiated conjecture ad nauseum is all that is required to determine the affects of individuals to a collective morale. :dunno:

Balotelli is embattled and sometimes, as I stated before borders on lunacy with some of the things he does being entirely inexplicable and random...but I'd only be concerned on what he does on the pitch which seems to be enough of a hurdle when it comes to maximizing his talents and avoiding lapses in focus and composure.

Balotelli is only 24 and this will be the 4th top flight team he'll play for. Nobody is breaking transfer fee records to obtain him, in fact every club has been more than happy to see him go. Odds are it will be the same with Liverpool in another season or two.

Reread the post you potatohead. What part of the term 'will be impossible to gauge/qualitify' implied I thought i was 'in the know' or had the information necessary to 'determine the affects of individuals to a collective morale'?

I shouldn't have been such a bellend though. I'm sorry SilentNight.

But I don't think it's unreasonable to speculate that a known cunt & trouble maker might cause some disharmony in the dressing room. He might not. But he definitely might, whether we'll ever be privy to it or not.

From my all of my years watching basketball there are some TERRIBLY unlikable individuals, in the same ilk of a Balotelli that are adored in the back. A player being a diva does not necessarily equate to being some sort of locker room cancer. If Balotelli had a track record of fights with teammates I could see this as being anything other than conjecture but his issue is inconsistency and problems with the media and his managers....nothing on his teammates thus far that isn't speculation.

Basically I take issue with the assertion that Balotelli will have some intangible effect on making a team worse beyond match performance solely because he acts ridiculously.

I mean if you were going that route you'd reasonably speculate that a guy like Suarez who's been known to dabble in race baiting would be far more damaging to locker room morale, particularly given he was playing with quite a few black players, however his chemistry on the pitch reflected no such issues.

Balotelli's antics and behaviour very nearly cost City the title in 2012. After the sending off against Arsenal where they lost 1-0 and went 8 points behind Man Utd you could visibly see his team mates were pissed off at him. They drop him, start winning games again, and luckily Man Utd somehow fucked up and blew their lead with five matches to go.
