That's like asking Siskel and Ebert to instead of doing their own show call in to Billy Bob's steaks and movie reviews.
Probably my least favorite David O. Russell movie outside of "Spanking The Monkey". Watchable, but no real rhythm to the film. The actors really "Baled" this one out (get it, huh.......well fuck you then). Amy Adams earned her Academy nomination, not sure why Jennifer Lawrence was even considered. I like her a bit, but she did nothing special here. Credit Louis CK for taking a pretty thankless role, he could have been used better here. Had moments, but as a whole it was a mess and fairly forgetful. Maybe my expectations were higher then they should have been. 6.5/10
Dispite my love for dramas the trailer for this looks exactly like your review and leaves me totally uninterrested. I'm just not going to watch it.
Ok, call me a liar, but hey it wasn't my idea. For some reason my girlfriend who saw this film had a real panty wetting about me watching it and I eventually relented. At any rate I wound up actually liking it. It had great acting and the dialogue was okay, but what really seemed to make it good was the film just seemed to have a way of making me want to see what would happen next and how the story would play out. The story and dialogue seemed like they should have been a lot better though and I think the replay value on this one is in the toilet. 6/10.
