    Crystal Palace hired the Slob.

I know some coaches wear sharp suits and some more comfortable in athletic gear. Warnock has to have the worst fashion sense of any coach. Tight ass, cheap shirts tucked into his running pants. When he was coaching QPR he came out with some big ass pair of shorts that were hiked up to the middle of his chest with his man tits tucked into them. It looks like he buys his clothes at Walmart.

    6 Goals. Fantastic.

Conceding 3 is weak for Chelsea's standards but 9 points in 3 is as good as it gets.

I worked all night. Tried to take a short nap before the match and missed the whole match. Jesus Christ. 6-3.

Giving up 6 goals at home is inexcusable. Even if it is Chelsea. I don't know who to blame yet since I haven't seen it. We've scored 7 and given up 10 in three matches.

It's probably good you didn't see it. They did well to claw back after a nightmare of a start, but every time it looked like they could salvage something from the match Chelsea responded immediately.

Liverpool looks like junk. Clumsy midfield constantly giving away the ball giving up transition, Gerrard figures himself some sort of masterclass and constantly tries to play homerun hero balls 50 yards down the pitch and never hits a damn one. The defense is average.

The only serious talent they have is Sterling as far as Im seeing.

Nice goal by Moreno. Took it all on himself and then made a difficult finish at that pace.

He's a Rangers fan that knows you have a hangover. He's not actually playing an instrument, he just put those annoying few chords on a loop and left for the day. :l3:

Earlier in the match Balotelli was taken down by a fairly hard challenge. Right away the announcer laughs and jumps to the "welcome back to the premiere league" line. Heard the same shit many times already when it comes to somebody getting tackled in their first game in England. "Welcome to the Premier League"

Of course, because only the EPL has physical play. These professional football players had never experienced a hard tackle before. :wack:

Balotelli's played in fucking Italy, I'm sure he's had his share of hard tackles

No, when he went back to Italy he was allowed to dance around like a ballerina without anybody getting in his way. That's why he needed to be "welcomed back" to the EPL as he forgot what a tackle even was.

    That's the mystique though.

I've heard people argue Ronaldo was better than Messi because he proved that he could play in a "more physical" league when he played for United and Messi has never "proved himself" in the EPL.

It's a sack of shit is what it is. The EPL is a great league on its own merit and doesn't require stupid comparisons. Anybody saying a player needs to prove something by playing in the Premiership badly needs an enema. It would be like David Beckham encountering some skillfull passing when he played his first match for Real Madrid and heard "ooooh bienvenidos a La Liga!"

The English League USED to be notorious for it's physicality - during the seventies and eighties defenders in the Football League basically had carte blanche to stop attackers by GBH if necessary - Jones' infamous grab of Gazza's bollocks is probably the most obvious example but guys like Jack Charlton used to keep a 'black book' of forwards he planned to maim and he was far from the only guy.

Now, this sanitised version is as soft as all fuck - the idea of the English league being any more physical than others has been largely consigned to history.

Yep, but football in general was more physical at the time. Even international matches were a lot rougher.

Very true but the 'English physicality' idea has a lot more merit back in the day. Honestly, watch some of the 1970's English league matches - there would be half a dozen red cards per match if the same happened today. Now, the idea that the Premier League is 'more physical' is just bollocks.

Agreed again. The idea that English football is more physical didn't come out of thin air, it's just that it's mostly outdated and isn't entirely true. Same thing with people saying today that for example Spanish football has more "skill". It's not necessarily equal because it's very subjective, but you'll find tremendous amount of skill in the England just as you will find a lot of physical play in Spain. The problem is most people making these assertions will watch 95% of one league only. The rest of the world they catch a few highlights of and make their decisions based upon that. (which are often compounded by pre conceived notions to begin with)

Funny thing about the pacemakers is they set out to be a British band the the core. In the 60s many UK bands were putting on American accents and imitating the 50s sound from America. Gerry sang in a strong Liverpool accent. They actually had more success in the US(partly on the back of Beatlemania) than they did in the UK. At one point they were told to just concentrate on marketing for the US. Same thing happened with Scottish singer Donovan. Lulu's song "To Sir With Love" from the Sidney Portier film was a big hit in the US. It was not even released in her native UK.
