His negatives are the lack of a really big punch, no massive handspeed, and tendency to get "dragged in". His positives are his inside timing, general ringmanship, bravery and strength.
If those are his weaknesses, then he has not much to worry about. He might not be Roman Gonzales type of p4p puncher but he can sting and hurt everybody. His handspeed is fine he threw some great combinations in the 12th. And in this fight Martinez a very good pressure fighter couldn't drag him in very much. Martinez stylewise is made for him though, I think. I wanna see him against Quigg!
Martinez plodded after him and still got to him a bit. I thought Framptons accuracy was way off, but he does that extended-left-hand really well, inviting guys to charge in and then time them as he does it. It's one thing for a taller man with long arms and blazing handspeed to do it, but for a guy like for Frampton, it is still pretty risky. Framptons people putting down Quigg now pretty bad. Frampton is right about one thing...he brings in the numbers and the money, not Barry Hearn and Quigg up in Bury. McGuigan talking up Leo Santo Cruz now.
What kind of Connection does McGuigan have to Northern Ireland? Isn't the relation between the two countries not so good?
I think a lot of the missing accuracy for Frampton was Martinez better bobbing and weaving in this fight. He was clearly aware of the danger of the right hand and excellently avoided it with head movement a lot of times. Frampton in my mind is just all around solid, not great at anything but pretty good at it.
McGuigan comes from a border-town, Clones. He was contending for and winning the title at the height of the "Troubles", in the mid 1980's. Then he married a Protestant. :: Then when he fought Pedroza, his father sang "Danny Boy", which is the unofficial anthem of Northern Ireland. Abner Mares wants some of Frampton now too.
Can he unify...........LSC fights next week. WBC vs IBF would be pretty good. I think LSC can be convinced to take the fight in London if not Belfast.
Yeah those are great possible fights. I have no idea where LSC would go. I think Frampton is more likely to go to the states than the other way round but that's pure speculation. Rigo is an interesting style match-up. I guess he won't be coming at Frampton like Martinez did...
Rigondeaux is the type of guy who would stand off his wife on their wedding night, then award himself a decision and lecture his friends the next day on how he forced the frustrated woman to lead all night..............
:: Of course it wouldn't, the same way the appearance of Jesus at dinner wouldn't surprise Panchy. Deluded#
Just as your arguments don't hold any water Should Gonzalez Come Roamin' Framps Won't A-Falter Romans No Emperor, Thinks He's Hadrian, We'll Stone Him His Woman We'll Cesar And Open Her Stoma Put Neil In Such A Coma That Yo Momma Will Disown Ya. Neil, every good white fighter that comes along, like Froch, Frampton, Klitschkos, you have an issue with them. Care to expand...
i like frampton. i said he is good. had never seen him until yesterday. gonzalez is clearly better. when it comes to boxing, i respect the skilled craftsmen. you deflect and shill for trashmen
You're a moron, Kneel, you are an insecure little wannabe thug, that has some as-of-yet-unexplained hatred of the Euro pugz. Did you get beaten at school by slow, awkward white guys with good chins and suspect body-art, is that it.....:dunno:
Neil, you know that ginger haired guy who looks a bit like Canelo, what did he do to draw your ire???
Segura is a good fighter. I think he's better than Sosa despite losing to him a couple of years ago. Gonzalez is really this generation's Ricardo Lopez. I didn't even think it was possible with today's video access to have a guy be as accomplished as Gonzalez with as little tv time, but his record and status are very similar to Lopez's when Lopez finally started getting shown on tv. That's how deep King's ppv cards were back then...a p4p, undefeated titlist was buried on untelevised undercards.
