You should replace Phil Neville as BBC analyst.

From what I've read they had an excellent side in the early to mid 70's led by Gunter Netzer. He played on the German team that won the European Championship in 72 which a lot of experts think was a superior side to the one which won the WC only two years later.

They've been really entertaining to watch so far this season. On current form I think they can challenge for a UCL spot.

Yeah I've seen some of their 70s matches... I like their crest, colors and they have good support and a hard to spell name

I think that's their biggest downside and probably doesn't help them attract many foreign fans.

4-1 to Gladbach. Chelsea is going to rip Schalke to shreds in CL.

Exactly! It's like a threat! I remember when I first was getting hooked on football and trying learn all the history and watch everything I could find, I saw their name as one of the great sides of the 70s in numerous places and was like "how the fuck do you say that?!"

Schalke has to be one of the biggest underachieving clubs in history... Huge support and they never win anything ever

You should get this book, pretty good read. Covers quite a lot of ground without getting muddled into trivialities.

Yeah lots of La Liga on that channel.

That British guy gets a little too excited though.

On another note watching from the NBC stream for some reason they were trying to push this idea that Villa was like America's team or something.

Pity Coots hit the post, but Liverpool were pretty unimaginative. Rogers is lucky he has that great season behind him, he'll get time to bed these guys in. Wrong choices today in midfield, Can was the man for the job but he started Lallana over Sterling and put in the lightweight if impressive Coots for Can. Not really sure there is too much to be said. Villa offered a limited threat and Liverpool didn't deal with it.
