Someone paid off doesnt take a point off someone losing by so much. Dont you think that would be way too fucking stupid and obvious?
Well win without cheating. He complained a lot about Maidana fighting dirty for the past 3 months. Floyd clearly has too much power in boxing now, he controls the nsac and Showtime verbally suck his dick. HBO would have spent all night talking about his lawsuit with that ho.
I think Showtime should have at least mentioned it. HBO go overboard with that shit, that's a major reason why Floyd left them. He couldn't control what they said about him. Showtime look scared to criticize Floyd. Jim Gray looked like he was ready to apologize to Floyd after asking him about the pacman fight.
Who gives a fuck? Why the fuck do you care about Floyd's life outside the ring, while you are watching him fight? That makes no damn sense. You are upset because they didnt mention the lawsuit? LMAO
Too bad Merchant couldn't have clocked Jim Grey behind the scenes, and taken the mic away from him. Then said "Ohhhh, you thought there'd be easy questions tonight?? Surprise, motherfucker!"
They didn't mention it because they don't want to upset Floyd. Do you see how Floyd reacts to criticism? Outside problems can affect an athletes performance. Floyd even said he was distracted in the first fight. However we will just have to agree to disagree.
The HBO crew has ALWAYS ALWAYS been better than the Showtime crew. Even when you go back to the 90's when you had Lampley/Merchant/George vs. Albert/Czyz/Pacheco aka the worst team ever assembled. Paulie is terrific, but Bernstein is horrible and has been horrible since the 90's, and Mauro needs to get throat cancer.
I used to like Bernstein but he obviously tows the line now and his take on fights has become borderline naive.
I never thought it was possible for an analyst to become washed up. But Bernstein has dropped soooooooooooo low in the last 20 years. I wish Showtime would replace him with Steve Farhood. Farhood is generally more blunt than Bernstein, and not as big an ass kisser. Actually, fuck it! Farhood just knows more about boxing in general than Bernstein.
As opposed to running across the ring to stop Maidana from throwing punches? The point deduction was unbelievably awful as well, you are merely proving the point
In fairness to al and Paulie, they mentioned the clinching dozens of times and they both thought the point deduction was absurd... Paulie made it a point to mention that Floyd was purposely covering Maidana's face with his glove in the clinch when the alleged bite took place
Showtime announcers are light years ahead of Hbo clown crew. The only one tolerable in this sorry bunch is Lmpley, and even then ,he just has a good voice and is pretty much insignifiant when it come to content.
I would disagree with that. I think Showtimes crew is the better crew now since Paulie came along. The production is better, the set up is better, they hype fights and interview fighters at events. HBO has been on the down slide for the past few years. They talk about anything but the fight and if they do talk about the fight its to criticize who ever is losing.
I think that HBO should bench max and Showtime should bench Al. They get ringside seats and fat contracts to agree with anything Roy and paulie say.
Could have played a drinking game for that. Drink each time you hear either "Definitely" or "Like I said before".
I think his officiating was suspiciously horrid and biased ... This is an established excellent official, he simply does not make blatant errors like this
Y'all watch on espn where teddy is talking about it, he calls him "Madonna" so many time :: Everytime he says it he makes me laugh ::
Just like he kept saying "HOLLY-Field". You'd think he'd be able to pronounce the guy's name, considering he was involved in Atlas's shining moment as a trainer (blown out of proportion anyway, Moorer didn't even listen to him)
Or DEE la Hoya :: Funny on this clip cuz Kenny or whoever it is with him keep pronouncing maidana and then teddy says "Madonna"
