All time, I guess I'd be

    Tito
    Tszyu
    Hamed
    Khan
    Broner

Tito didn't deserve to be p4p #1 but he was in the discussion, unlike these others. Also, he competed in the strongest division and did well. Tszyu was more dominant as a lt.welter but it was also a weaker division and his resume is weaker. In fact, Tszyu was always better in old amateur rules than ever as a pro. Hamed was a legit top-10 p4per for a while but failing to face the best of his division (and losing when he did) drops him. Khan has actually a couple of very good results. He gets hated on a lot, but anybody who beats Maidana isn't a complete clown. Broner looked good for a while, before he fought anyone that is

My list is the same as Ugo's, but I'd swap Khan and Hamed. Khan is more proven, and better. Compare their fights against Barrera for starters

The truth is the top 4 are fairly close, and that scrub Broner doesn't belong on any such list.

I love the thought of Tito vs Khan or Broner.

People who don't smoke or drink would enjoy a glass of brandy and a cigar after getting satisfied from watching that.

Got it now. Well most of those guys are detestable. I always liked Tito and tszyu, but Tito was a cheat and tszyu, in hind sight , never tried to avenge either of his defeats, which is disappointing.

tito is by far the best
    Hamed is a clear second
Tzsyu and Khan were at about the same level (though, head to head, tzsyu probably ko him)
Broner seems to have wasted his career with the fast jump in weight

For all the hate he gets, Tito was CLEARLY the best fighter of the five.

After him, it's probably Tszyu. Although, you could make a decent case for a peak/prime Hamed being better than Tszyu. Naz is pretty underrated nowadays. Still, I'd say Tszyu was better than Naz.

    Broner, and Khan are bums.

In terms of who I subjectively think was the most dangerous, hard to beat historically

    Hamed
    Tszyu
    Trinidad
    ...
    ...
    ...
    Con
    Boner

How is Tszyu harder to beat than Tito?

Put it this way, Vince Philips was a good fighter, but a fighter of Philips caliber would never beat Tito. The way Philips beat Tszyu would have gotten him smoked against Trinidad.

There's more welterweights that beat Tito than there are junior welters that beat Tszyu, but that's ONLY because historically 147 has more great fighters than 140.

  24. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

Trinidad had a better career than either Hamed or Tszyu, but at their respective bests, I'd rank those fellows as harder opponents to defeat historically speaking

I can't think of a single great welterweight I'd pick Tito to do much of anything against... There's plenty of great featherweights who would have had their hands full with Hamed's weird ass style, speed and ridiculous power... Most of them would win, but it would never be a cakewalk... I can easily picture Trinidad losing absolute cakewalks against the Hearns, Leonards, Robinsons, Gavilans, Rodriguezes, etc. of the world

Tito fans will be foaming at the mouth, but whatever... He had a better career, he's "greater" in that sense, but if I was managing a welterweight and a featherweight of similar ability and similar attribute, I'd be more nervous during a Hamed bout than a Trinidad one

  25. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

There's no great junior welter that Tszyu beats either.

He would have gotten his ass handed to him by prime Chavez, Pryor, Benitez, Whitaker, Cervantes, DLH, Locche, Taylor.

Phillips/Tszyu was a competitive fight... Phillips was a talented drug addict

Tszyu was never humiliated and made to look like a clueless amateur... The blueprint to beat Trinidad is crystal clear... The blueprint for Tszyu is much more complicated... I'm talking degrees here, only... I mean, Pete Ranzany could box pretty well, but I wouldn't pick him to jab Trinidad silly and win a decision, he wasn't good enough, talented enough... It still takes an elite welter to do it, but it's as clear-cut a thing as it gets, like Floyd Patterson versus a large heavyweight with a big punch, it's easy to predict... I have no doubt that Whitaker, Locche, Cervantes, Pryor, etc. beat Tszyu head-to-head but I don't think it'd ever be so basic and easy as it would be for the best welters to beat Trinidad

none of them would come close to whooping him as easily as Leonard/Hearns/Robinsons etc. could beat Tito the cyborg

Tito vs Khan would be a fantastic contest

    Well no shit!

Leonard/Robinson/Hearns were much higher caliber fighters than anyone in the history of 140.

  30. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

Sure, but I don't think that even matters that much... A case could be made that Jose Napoles was an even better fighter at 140 than at 147 and even though I would bet big on him beating Tszyu at the weight, I would never envision it as an embarrassing whitewash where Tszyu looks like a clueless retard who's never seen a jab
