Will this film be Keanu Reeves true comeback? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/BF0DuUgsm3s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Keanu should stick to sci fi. It's the only genre where the SFX and surrealistic environment can distract us from or justify his mechanical acting.
In an age of movies where 'action' has to be pretty fucking stellar for it to stand out from the rest. This does not.
It's no longer the 90's, and no longer The Matrix. Nobody gives a shit about Keanu anymore. There's no doubt at all this movie will bomb.
If your requisite for a good film is based solely on who's playing the lead role, you've already failed. Also I thought Keanu was pretty good in Street Kings which -much like this film seems- was a strongly written film so he didn't necessarily need to carry it. I think whether it does well or not will depend on the promotion and it's competition and not whether or not people care about Keanu Reeves.
WHOA!!! This film is getting great reviews from both critics and audiences with an 86% fresh in rottentomatoes! Still, that piece of crap horror film, Quija, which its studio kept it away from critics screenings (smart move: it got only 10% rotten grading), will take the #1 spot this weekend and John Wick will take the #2 spot with around $15 million. Most of the comments here were off since apparently the movie is good and it will not bomb since this is a low budget film.
I saw this last week and was pleasantly surprised. If you're looking for a movie with a high body count. Done. Also, it's not plagued by too much CGI. In fact, don't believe there was any. I liked it.
Great film. Fight choreography was great. Very slick and cool film. And the dog was so cute awwwwwwww
LOL, just found this thread over a year after I watched it. Solid, solid action movie. Keanu is back, long live Keanu. :bears: Also saw the movie "Keanu", worth a few chuckles, but not much more then a Key & Peele sketch that goes on way too long.
I enjoyed this one but unlike most people it doesn't have replay ability for me. JW may as well be Superman in this film for all the chances the bad guys have of actually killing him. Now there is a sequel coming and I can guess that every bad guy will die exactly like every other bad guy did in the first film, from a perfectly placed bullet from JW's gun.
Completely true...but the body-count in 'John Wick II' will far exceed the ridiculous amount in 'John Wick'.
