Hard to believe Sterling is only 19.

He is very underrated on the international radar in my view.

I like him because he's not some imported "athlete" from Upper Volta that is paid £19 a week to "RUN AT PEOPLE WITH PACE"

By the standards of English players today, the lad has a bit of old-fashioned skill about him.

Allardyce seen holding up three fingers, gesturing and then giving a thumbs up... Perhaps indicating a successful bribe

No energy from Liverpool. Threading passes...to who??? Can live with the third goal conceded as thats CA football but the endless pressing with no end result?? Long hard season beckons and next weekend won't be any easier albeit it is a Derby and form counts for nothing in those. Adrian should have been sent off sure but you can't rely on stuff like that either.

Rodgers keeps tinkering with the back 4 and they can't familiarize or develop understandings.

    Meh...not real chances.

Sterling the only guy out there who tried a lick.

Of course when Sturridge comes back the whole team will improve but that's not good enough.

The situation is dire, but its not fatal, it can be improved.

Talk about "Rodgers believing his own hype" and "they need Suarez" is all bullshit.

Rodgers needs to go back to the fucking basics that he was so good at when he was with Swansea.

Even in his first year with Liverpool they had some shocking results but generally played well.

I would drop Gerrard, leave the back fucking 4 alone.

sturridge is badly missed and I agree on Gerrard... My point on the chances is exactly what you alluded to... Only Sterling tried, he also won them these opportunities

Sterling is class. I wish we were still producing players like that but it's been a bit dry lately. He's probably the last guy to come through our academy. Still, at least he's still alive and playing football unlike Kiyan Prince (stabbed to death), Ray Jones (died in car crash) or Harry Smith (pushing people under trains).

Tomorrow is the fixture that did me in last season.

12 Feb 14. I am in Liverpool, meeting some friends at a pub just outside Goodison Park. Northwest England is having their worst storm in 400 years. I heard on TV that Man City-Sunderland had been called off but our game was still a go. Then apparently I was the last one to know ours got called off too. I just wanted to crawl under a table and disappear. Couldn't believe the bad luck. But there was nothing we could do. On the bright side, THE SYSTEM won a shitload of money for me that night. As I had Arsenal/Man U 0-0 correctly and Fulham/Liverpool 2-3 correctly and those were the only two matches I bet exact scores on. I won around 160 quid just on those two and some other money on a few wins. Plus I did get my money back for the match.

16 Apr 14. The replay of that fixture. I was heading to Las Vegas to watch the match in an English pub. The trip fell apart at the last moment so I stayed in town and got arrested for driving drunk. They kept me in jail until 3 pm the next day so I missed the match. Only to come home and find out we lost to Palace at home. Again, the only good that came of it were picking up points in the prediction league because the SYSTEM called that one.

    Good times.

I knew Newcastle wouldn't lose today and I knew Liverpool wouldn't win today. Got Villa wrong not so much Villa per se, but Arsenal. Knew Southampton would turn over Swansea.

Not to me. There was Ferguson, Wenger, Moyes....and everybody else

A few years ago, you had Jol, Benitez, Allardyce etc who were racking up the years. Chelsea don't keep managers, City are a joke, Hodgson replaced Benitez {the equivalent of replacing Martin Luther King with Floyd Mayweather} and lasted precisely no time.

I don't even think winning anything with clubs like Chelsea, City, Real, Barca, Bayern is that great an accomplishment ... I mean you SHOULD win, you've got a ridiculous advantage... If a manager led QPR to back to back 7th place finishes in the EPL I think I'd be more impressed by him than some fellow leading Chelsea to 2nd place and CL semi finals

I had a chat with a Man United fundamentalist tonight, and an agnostic and we all agreed that NO OTHER BUSINESS or trade would survive if run in the fashion that football is. It makes no sense, and survives ONLY because it is basically a gigantic ponzi scheme, which pulls in more suckers than leave, both at the bottom {fans} and at the top {new owners} both of whom spunk gigantic sums of money for, in the fans case, no return, or an intangible return, and in the owners case, some possible financial return {eg Celtic} but more likely a return in the form of societal acceptance or prestige.
