Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has announced that he will be playing Black Adam in the new DC comics movie Shazam.

 

I know The Rock is fond of that character that's why he chose it, but it does make the casting of Shazam more difficult.

Is official: Joaquin Phoenix is out and no longer attached to play Doctor Strange. And since this film is going to be directed by Scott Derrickson who helmed Sinister the current buzz is that Derrickson offered the role to his 'Sinister' star, Ethan Hawke, who was almost begging for the role. Rumors said that Hawke agreed to a six-picture deal with Marvel over the weekend and only is hammering the details of such contract. So what you think of Hawke as the Sorcerer Supreme?

 

Ethan is a solid actor, it's fine by me. But why a 6 movie deal?

Agreed, loved him in Gattaca, pretty much hated or found him mediocre in everything else and I thought he was the weak link in Traning Day. One of the few actors I could probably say I actually dislike. He does have the look of Doctor Strange although I think he is too short. I don't mind him here, it's not like it's an Oscar type performance needed from him.

 

So what? Robert Downey Jr. is almost a midget, but nobody cares since he does a great job as Tony Stark.

Ewan McGregor being considered. Certainly a better choice than Keanu or Ethan Hawke.

Marvel has confirmed that Phase 3 will center on the highly popular 'Civil War' comics storyline. That news has produced a collective nerdgasm among comicbook geeks. And on top of that both Sony & Marvel Studio are flirting each other with the idea of a possible appearance of Spiderman in the Civil War story! (Andrew Garfield might NOT be cast as Spidey, just a stuntman wearing the suit). And if that wasn't enough, Marvel has confirmed that Robert Downey Jr has signed to appear in Captain America 3 for which he will be paid $40 million plus!
