Ths is the year of the comeback. How many times this year have you seen a score that was an absolute blowout in the second quarter. Then all the sudden you hear about the game going into OT, coming down to the wire, or the team that was getting dusted coming back and winning. No lead is safe. I have no problem with spankings or the use of a switch for discipline. It was my Grandmother's favorite deterrent to keep us in line. As a parent myself, I could never use it, but I can certainly understand the practice. My issue is the multiple lashes to the leg of a 4 year old. That cannot be mistaken as parental punishment or deterrent. There is anger involved that goes well beyond that point in my opinion. From the perspective of a parent and as a former kid that got spanked at home, school and even church, there is absolutely no way what AP did can be excused as an act of discipline.
