floyd comes off like an idiot or jerk.. no denying that, but he is right when he says Pac isn't a boss. Pac can only do what Arum lets him I was sure it would happen just due to the $$ involved but it needs to and really should have already. Its a shame.. it will be like Tyson-Lewis when it didn't even matter anymore
The Arum excuse is a last, desperate cry from salty Floyd fans. REED and Puerto have it right. For whatever reason, it's clear Floyd is spooked by the little 5'5 Filipino who pulls his trousers up really high and wears a belt. Arum has nothing to do with it. Pacquiao could be a free agent and Floyd still wouldn't want to fight him.
"Manny might kill Floyd" - Floyd Sr. "I don't want to fight Manny because I don't want to end up walking with a limp, or hunched over" - Floyd Jr.
I honestly was laughing so hard when Floyd Sr was talking about :fearing for his son's life:, that my face started to hurt. :: And May just gives himself away at the end saying "This guy just walked through Cotto, and dropped Mosley, but Cotto couldn't." He may well have the skills to beat Manny, but the little Pinoy has him shook..
Ex-fucking-actly. These Flomos talking about "Arum this" and "Arum that" - just watch the fucking video. Especially the end bit, from Floyd's own mouth, and his father's. That end bit with Floyd basically validates what you, REED and myself have been saying for ages. Floyd is spooked by Pacquiao, simple as that. At Pacquiao's best, in 2009, Floyd didn't fancy his chances. And that sentiment has obviously carried itself with Floyd to this day. Floyd was even pacing up and down, all agitated, when talking about Pacquiao. Me too BTW, I was laughing out loud, hysterically, at the whole bit with both Floyds, it's lucky my girlfriend was out ::
I noticed that. He is soooooo shook at the mere THOUGHT of facing this guy that it's like he's on the verge of a breakdown or something. :: Yeah 09-10 Pac was when this fight should have happened. But even NOW, because of Mayweather's own decline, Manny is a legitimate threat to his 0 and it's painfully obvious that he doesn't wanna risk it. He knows Pac CAN beat him. And that's enough for him to not want it. I'm calling it now...I think Showtime will press for the fight after Pac beats Algieri and Floyd will once again balk at it. Watch Mayweather RETIRE again. :wack:
But Pacquaio has lost and been knocked out twice...U guys don't know boxing...So Khan is next... what? he has too? Oops. What? Pacquaio is in agreement with everything? Aah...he is not his own boss, he has to sign with my promotional company... Ariza is telling me some shit. I was right all along. But Pacquaio has agreed to all testing...What? NO! No fight with Filipino future BELOVED hall of famer...
In terms of retirement for both FIGHTERs, everyone is hating the idea of Pacquaio retiring, while hardcore boxing fans are thinking just go already in Floyd's case.
Floyd was talking about his demands and reasons behind wanting a drug test, and the limp/hunched over part was specifically in reference to how he has to watch out for his own health and shouldn't have to fight a juiced fighter. That doesn't make him sound scared at all. I've shit on Floyd plenty including when the Maidana fight was first made, I have said here he avoided Khan because of the problems Khan poses. Remember that it was Pac who ducked the fight initially by claiming he had a fear of needles and couldn't take blood tests, blah blah etc. If you claim Floyd's scared, at least come clean (no pun intended) & say Pac is/was juiced.
i think everyone that is not a hater of some sort.. that really watches boxing and has for years... knows that Floyd whups Pac. as in.. it's not really intriguing at all
I think through the years you have to recognize how unbelievably talented Floyd is as a FIGHTER, his timing, his ring generalship, his outside of the ring business smarts, but many have come to the conclusion he sees major risk in fighting Manny...I always thought Floyd would win but he made up excuse after excuse after excuse not to fight him and for that his legacy will be forever damaged. Hearns got knocked out, lost, Leonard, Robinson, Ali...but fans gave them standing O's, Floyd?
Agreed. You can all call me crazy if you like, but Floyd has an easier time with Pac than he does with Khan. Keep in mind, I also said Khan would be lucky to last 2 rounds with Pac. So I'm not being a Flomo here or a Khan hugger.. Styles make fights.
True, but in EVERY OTHER Negotiation After That, Pac COMPROMISED on the Drug Testing, if REED's Not Mistaken...Yes, Pacquiao DID Juice, in REED's Opinion...Nonetheless, Dude Eventually SHOWED he was Willing to Make the Fight Happen.... Floyd INVENTED Random Drug Testing to AVOID Fighting Pac & Like Someone Said, When's the LAST Time Floyd Demanded it from Other Opponents???...Was Maidana Drug Tested???...Canelo???...Guerrero???... Even AFTER Pac agREED to Pre AND Post Fight Testing, Floyd THEN Harped on Purse Splits, THEN it was Arum, NOW it's Patently ABSURD Shit like "He just Wants a Payday", "What were his PPV Sales?", "His Last Fight was in Another Country", etc... To REED's Knowledge, NO Fighter has Ever Sooooooo Blatantly DUCKED a BIG FIGHT, MAINSTREAM Opponent as PLIABLE as Pacquiao has Been, Pertaining to Facing Floyd Mayweather...It's Really THAT Simpley...This WILL Hurt Floyd's Legacy, Undoubtedly...Floyd's THE ONLY Reason this Fight Hasn't Happened & Even NOW, he Comes UNGLUED @ the Thought of It...That HAS to Be Held AGAINST him, 1nce his Career is OVER.... Hell, Floyd's NOT Anxious about Fighting Khan Either, as we've Seen.... REED:baa:
I think Floyd stopped the drug testing after Pacquiao was KO'd and thus the pressure to face him died down some. Now that the pressure is coming on again, don't be surprised to see him bring it up once again :wack::doh:
And even Marquez who knocked Pacquaio cold don't even want to see Pacquaio again. He said he wanted to win a record amount of championships but when Pacquaio defeated Bradley, who Marquez lost to, and was the most lucrative and appropriate FIGHTER to accomplish that goal against, he thought of a different direction and is now in limbo.
I dunno, you may have a point. I think part of it was the testing, part of it was Arum, part of it is his ego, and yeah, part of it is he thinks Pac is an unnecessary risk. But Floyd has been consistent in his demands for drug testing. When they fought Floyd, all of the opponents you named underwent the same USADA testing that Floyd demanded from Manny.
