I was gonna post it, but there is no point.

Well, is a first: the first Hollywood remake of a Christian film based on a Christian novel. It will flop for sure, like most recent Nicolas Cage films, but who knows.

Left Behind (2014) Where should I begin? I knew this was going to suck, but did not imagined that it could be worst than the micro-budgeted Kirk Cameron preachy version. I was wrong. While the original was mainly about the Rapture and the rise of the AntiChrist, this one is mainly about landing a plane. The movie doesn't kick-in until like 30 minutes in the 'plot' of inept acting and amateurish dialogue and when the 'event' unfolds is very unimaginative and boring the approach the director takes (trying to make it into a 'disaster movie' but with some sporadic hints at a religious film and failing miserably in the process) . The direction is sloppy and the special effects have a 1970's look which even my 12 year said 'that looks so fake!' The fact that this is a low budget film ($16 million) should not be an excuse for its poor quality: God's Not Dead only cost $2 million, but it went on to gross $60 million because it was, like, well, entertaining something sorely missing here. If Nicolas Cage's career can bounce after this fiasco, that would be more miraculous than anything in this film. 2/10

You might be right: at $13 million gross this is Nicolas Cage biggest hit in three years.

is this related to those silly films that brainwashed maniac Kirk Cameron stars in? Or is that something different?

    Yup, supposedly it is.

I love that Cage is in it. He'll star in absolutely anything that will give him a paycheck. Half of that $16 million budget, probably went to him, and I doubt he gives two shits about religion. Probably will use the payday to buy a set of T-Rex bones from a struggling museum, or some stupid shit like that.

Can't wait until this hits basic cable, so I can rip on it, during one of our bad movie family nights.
