First one is revenue and the 2nd is where they rank in the delorret (sp?) top 20 for total turnover.

it's got to be skewed by ticket prices a bit

Celtic still sold 43k season tickets last year (down 10k in the last few years) - people aren't bothering to show up for allot of games but they're still making the credit card payments.

According to wiki here are the top 17 in average attendance for 2013-14. Noticably absent is Chelsea who aren't even in the top 17 so ticket prices must be extremely expensive.

that was my thinking as well because Stamford Bridge doesn't hold that many people compared to some of the grounds on that list... yet another reason that club is proper shite

Most are an accumulation of all match-day revenue - ticket sales, pies, pints, programmes, hospitality boxes etc. That's the usual measure.

Bingo! Tottenham appear on that list Hut posted and their attendance is 20K less than a lot of the teams in the list posted by Whiskey. The reasons they appear at all is because they are in Landan and so they charge suitably ridiculous Landan prices.

To be fair, the Bundesliga have several advantages which explain the figures but probably the most prevalent is that they built a bunch of new stadia for the 2006 world cup which raised capacities significantly. The fact that prices are much bloody cheaper than anywhere else also helps, mind.

In fairness to Spurs, they play at a tiny place compared to some of these clubs... It wouldn't surprise me a bit if they still sold out with a 50,000+ ground... Very devoted fanbase

I'm surprised they are fond of terracing... The kraut's need for Lebensraum would lead me to assume they want the leg room of some sparse seating

We'll find out when they move to their 56,000 seat stadium in 2018. I'm not convinced they'll fill it - they've had plenty of 20,000odd average attendances in the last 20 years or so.

The way Germany manages the planning process is another area where it shows Britain up as the dysfunctional, sclerotic basketcase it is. HafenCity vs Salford Quays or Glasgow Harbour? Maggie Thatcher - can you hear me, Maggie Thatcher! Your boys took one hell of a beating! Your boys took one hell of a beating!

Here's how I see it. Spurs' attendances are holding up well at the minute but they are in something of an unusually peak so far as league placings are concerned - they spend most of their time before 2008(ish) bouncing around the table with no discernible pattern; they have been more of a cup team, historically. When they were crap (most of the 90's give or take a season here and there) they struggled to fill White Hart Lane. NUFC and Sunderland have been SHIT for most of the last ten years (at least), yet both draw over 45,000 for every single home game.

Six years of solid placings in modern fitbaw is a good run for a non-massive club in a city with 6 premier sides:dunno:
