The proper lot is what I remember, we had some right ding dongs in the old First Division. I wonder how many current "City fans" know who Shaun Goater or Georgi Kinkladze are?

Yeah, the older Citeh teams were ones to remember, not this lot, even though the likes of Aguero are top class players. Kinkladze was a class little player, very similar to Messi in terms of great close ball control, low centre of gravity and a good left peg too.

Would you try Deontay Wilder's recipe for corn beef and cabbage? It has a little bit of watermelon in there to give it some extra soul.

Then they must have made big changes in the last 9 months because they exceeded the new 3 year loss limit (45 million euros) by 30% last year alone.

Dogg, how would a team like the NY Cosmos enter the MLS?

As far as I understand it, the North American system doesn't use Relegation... Instead it follows the usual NA style of a Major League and a Minor League(s) ... The new Cosmos play in the top minor league under MLS, known as the NASL (just like the old major league in the 70s) ... I think the purpose of setting it up this way over here was due to NA never having promotion/relegation on one hand and then on the other with the idea of being better able to produce young American players

Theoretically, someone wealthy could buy the club and lobby for a place in MLS, but with New York City FC due to start next year, that seems extremely unlikely

To be fair he's close to 40. I would imagine he fancies a holiday in the states.

I think it would be seen as so radical here and risky... MLS is operated on almost socialist principals with shared revenue... That's one of the reasons it has thrived where the old NASL failed miserably

I guess relegation is such a foreign concept over there. If a team got relegated would the fans & investors jump ship?

It would be seen as a huge risk but in the long term it could transform team USA :)

I'm looking forward to having an MLS team to support even if they are partially owned by Shitty and that fat cunt Lampard is playing for them... An MLS team in The Bronx??? Yes, please

Relegation just isn't fair here because of our states system.

If teams in England get relegated they likely have 2 or 3 other teams from that general area for fans.

If for example, the Seattle Saunders got relegated, supporters in a huge block of the Northwest would essentially be stranded. Mind you, Washington state alone is nearly as large as all of England and the encompassing "market" which would include likely Idaho, Oregon(since Portland has no team IIRC), and parts of other Northwestern states is MUCH larger.

It's too big of demographic hit.

If teams in England get relegated the supporters tend to stick by them, you support your team through thick and thin.

Ok what if the entire country of England was relegated and taken off television?

Granted, it's not just about "support". Even if attendance was good it's bad for the league and TV ratings to lose potentially huge markets.
