Yeah, kid doesn't look too bad. Hopefully he'll be able to raise his game and be a good 6th man when the broke bones brothers return.

Word on the street was having Westbrook on the Thunder was holding Durant back but from what I've seen from Westbrook it looks like both guys were holding each other back. You put Westbrook on his own team and he's a superstar just like Harding. Also that Thomas kid from Duke doesn't look to bad either. His first game I think he made his first 5 shots in a row. Thunder are the most fumbling turnover team in the league though.

Thunder are a mess. I really hope the Westbrook/Durant duo don't last long. Both are great enough to lead their own teams. It would be sad to see Westbrook play under Durant's shadow during his prime.

Disagree. Westbrook needs another star to facilitate a more efficient offense through.

Otherwise, he's Allen Iverson with no chance to go very far in the playoffs. People forget that Iverson had his most efficent, well rounded season while playing with Carmelo, when he was well past his prime...granted they tanked in the Playoffs, but you could argue that Iverson was wasted by NOT having somebody's shadow to play under.

You must just be looking at stats because iverson most certainly didn't have his best season with Denver. He was a turn style defensively by then

Yes, I was just looking at stats, and I didn't say "Best" season. I said "most efficient, well rounded season", and I meant it from an offensive standpoint. They won 50 games that year, and my statement was meant as an example of what he might have been capable of in his prime years, had he had another dominant offensive style player to pair up with, and only had to chuck up 19 shots a game, instead of his usual 25-30 shots a game that went down at a much lower % rate.

A player like Iverson, should have NEVER led the league in scoring. He might have won a couple of titles in Philly, had he had a high % superstar to help shoulder the offensive load with him. Hell, Carmelo had his highest career FG%, that same year, I imagine because he himself, was able to share the scoring load with Iverson. They opened things up for each other.

Only reason I mentioned it was because Haymaker thought Durant and Westbrook should be split up, and I disagreed with that statement. I think they compliment each other well. Can't break them up just because they haven't won a title. Only one team gets to win it all each year. They've still had very good seasons together.

Young iverson wasn't tryin to share any scoring load when he was in his 20s. What you said is only possible in theory. Stackhouse was ran outta there fast. The guy needed the ball in his hands a large percentage of the time. Philly built a team around him and got him as far as it could've unless they somehow could've added elite complementary players. Once they dealt him for Billups Denver became legit contenders. That showed his value at that point in time

Spurs have a tough decision to make there. While Kawhi is not exactly Max contract caliber, Chandler Parsons neither is, and he's getting paid like one. The Spurs have always been reticent to pay max salary to anyone but they might end up with nothing if they don't pay the young man. Afterall, he's the finals MVP, he's young and has good upside. Another thing the Spurs should consider is their lack of free agents willing to sign with them. Don't count on luring Durant or anybody else because they will simply refuse.

While I agREE with you that Westbrook needs another star (all elite players do) to play along with, durant isn't that star. They're both ball dominant players who love and are pretty good at scoring. Westbrook would benefit from a pass-first star or at least a willing passer, or a star who could take the backseat to him like Wade did when Bron joined him. The same applies to KD. Basketball is all about personalities and how they fit each other. These two will keep butting heads until one of them can't take it anymore.

they got a finals appearance, you think if they split they can do better? alot of great players never make the finals, or win a championship.

depends what they would be able to get for westbrook. him and durant arent a great fight but unless you are able to deal westbrook for another all star/top caliber guy who IS a better fit then its not gonnna improve the team. it does seem like some of the thunders younger talent is improving in perry jones, roberson and lamb so that also might put them over the top if they continue to get better and the thunder are able to keep them all.

Kobe still doesnt know how to make his team better. Still thing hogging is the way to go.

Im convinced Kobe gives a fuck about a Championship title, he just wants the scoring title.

the game vs phx convinced ya? if he wanted a ring he would have went to another team and taken 1/4 of what the fakers paid him.

Kobe only cares about passing Jordan on the scoring list. That's all that's on his mind. Funny thing is, by the time he does it he will have played roughly three seasons worth of games more than Jordan to do it.
