    9/10

It is a movie made by Koreans but most actors are Americans. The spoken language is English. I am not good at writing reviews. I will leave that to panchy.

You and Panchy are the most 9/10 review giving mofo's on this board. I think you guys get over excited right after seeing a film and over praise it. Also how hard is it to give a review? Just tell us what made this film so goddamn 9/10 worthy which if it's actually true shouldn't be too hard. I remember seeing this trailer and planning to skip it as it looked like a shit movie but who knows the reviews are pretty strong on IMDB so maybe it's a lot better than I thought. I've really slacked off movie watching lately but if I get into it again maybe I'll check this one out.

    Snowpiercer
I heard great things about this film, but its premise wasn't appealing enough to me to watch it. Finally is now on Netflix so I decided to give it a try. Awesome film! This Korean production based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob and starring Captain America himself, Chris Evans with British actors like John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton (unrecognizable under all that make up and false teeth) and Koreans Song Kang-ho and Ah-sung ko (as the silent girl with ESP powers) and directed by 'The Host' director, Bong Joon-ho, in what is truly international production, delivers one of the most engaging, heart pounding, mindboggling scifi films ever made. The film's pace goes as fast as the train and loses some steam near the end when it becomes a train wreck both figuratively speaking and literally. I am baffled at the little publicity this film received which translated in not so stellar box office grosses since this is a helluva of a film. Even the critics loved it with a 95% fresh at rottentomatoes. Me, as Lb 4 Lb predicted earlier, will give it a solid 9/10.

Okay I agree outstanding movie. I think it's a good 7.5/10 movie which is a good score. The dialogue was decent but nothing you'll be quoting or remembering later. To be honest the best thing about the film was the story, pace, and action. None of the characters were stand out or irreplaceable except perhaps the female villian. Even Chris Evans was just solid and that was mainly because he wasn't given much to work with as far as his character goes. Of course I'm nit picking here and only to prove my score. It was very good but not great, so I think giving it a 9 is a stretch. Also the ending left much to be desired but overall a very entertaining film.

For the record Pancy--and maybe this highlights the ills in your scoring system--a 9/10 isn't a solid score. It's a pretty fucking impressive one.

Saw it last week on Netflix. It's a good movie. I dunno about 9/10. A 9/10 is reserved for a borderline classic movie. Snowpiercer was a solid 7/7.5

I wasn't a big fan of the ending. Had it been a better ending, I would call it a 8/10.

    I was impressed.
To me a score of 7 is borderline average, 8 is good, 9 is very, very good and 10 is a masterpiece.

In my book, a 7/7.5 is a good movie. 8/8.5 is very good. 9 is superb/borderline classic. Then you have the rare 10/10 which is a classic/modern classic.
