In women the best boxers are in the amateurs. Professionals don't get paid anything so the best fighters have no intention of going pro. The ones that don't reach Olympics go pro and win European or World titles in five fights. A Finnish female fighter won an Euro title and went over a year without defending it since nobody was interested to fight for it.

That being said, women's boxing is like football without goals. Even if you see some nice technique, it still leads nowhere. It is useless

I suspect there are quite a few pro female boxers who make a very good living...Acuna, Bopp, Kentikian, Braekhus.

Bräkhus makes a decent living but not nearly as much as male fighter even at the European level. Perhaps it changes now as she starts to fight for a Norwegian promoter and the people there actually think she is a sports star

It's Because the 2 Biggest Fights in Women's Boxing NEVER Happened...

If Lucia Rijker vs. Christy Martin or Laila Ali vs. Ann Wolfe Took Place, Who Knows the IMPACT It'd have Had...Women's MMA is Generating GENUINE Appeal, so it's Not OUT of the Realm of Possibility Women's Boxing Could've, as Well...

But Again, the 2 Most IMPORTANT Fights of that Genre NEVER Happened, Which was Basically a DEATHBLOW...

Womens boxing has great potential, unlike womens soccer, which is basically, shit.

Do the women deserve to be paid as much as the men.....they do if they do the same figures.

No doubt those two fights not happening hurt women's boxing, particularly in the USA. Our Olympic gold medalist (high schooler, name forgotten) should have gone pro by now, too.

As I said before, the best female fighters do not go pro. They have better competition, more chances to fight and more money as amateurs, there is no point to fight pro

Some ex amamteur champ from Europe went pro. Fought Lucia Rijker. Got the shit kicked out of her and then went back to the amateurs.

Rijker was the exception among women, plus back then female amateur boxing was much, much shittier than it is now, which says a lot

I know who she is. She was also a champion in martial arts.

I didn't think someone could go back to amateur status once they have fought professionally but apparently they can or at least she did.

They can't but they can fight very good and as such they will have a niche...albeit the either Mia St John niche or the "Wow look at those two feral bitches go" niche.

The peculiar thing is, women MMA fighters are much better. The skill and talent level is clearly higher, which is the opposite for men.

I'm watching the current TUF, and despite being relative unknowns, they are better at their sport than almost any female boxer I've ever seen.
