    Agreed, the funny thing is everyone knew & loved the story. This should have been a home run but somehow the studio managed to screw it up.

    His best movie was Shattered Glass and jumper was fucking horrible.

    Jumper is way worse than Phantom Menace.

    Revenge of the Sith:
    Rottentomatoes: 80%, 65% of the Audience liked it.

    Attack of the clones:
    Rottentomatoes: 67%, 60% of the Audience liked it.

    Jumper:
    Rottentomatoes: 16%, 44% of the audience liked it.



    It's not even close. Jumper blows by most people's standards.

    Actually I was thinking the same thing because he seems to be forming his opinions from Rotten Tomatoe scores and like you I thought Jumper was a more enjoyable movie than Sith. Personally I don't care that all the prequels have solid to good scores on both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, I personally don't enjoy those movies and nobody can change my opinion on that.

    I gave my opinion. His response to my opinion was that jumper had the status of a better popcorn movie and sith wished it had that. So I showed him the facts that Jumper has no status compared to sith.

    I have confidence in Abrams on this one based on the fact that if he delivered a highly entertaining film out of a franchise he never cared about (Star Trek), how much more effort he will not put on a Star Wars film, a franchise he admits he loves so much that became the main reason for him to pursue a film career in the first place. His decision to shoot on locations, built sets (instead of green screen backdrops) and use practical effects vs CGI are steps in the right direction. Lets just hope that the story is compelling enough to stand on its own.

    Okay you just made me feel better about Abrams because bringing up his work with Star Trek as his defense alone wasn't going to cut it. That film isn't exactly brag worthy.

    2009's Star Trek has a 95% fresh rating on Rottentomatoes. Critics and audiences loved it, something that no prior Trek movie ever accomplished...it IS 'brag worthy'.
