Canelo already agreed to the terms to callenge Cotto at middleweght. Now is just a formality to sign the contract from Cotto's camp. http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/...ya-canelo-alvarez-agrees-to-face-miguel-cotto
Cotto will thump this little Ginger mook. He'll land plenty of meaty, fat ginger thigh shaking haymakers on route to a late stoppage.
MGM arena aint great, but still much better than old ass thomas&Wack. its just an old basketball arena, not really a boxing venue. its location and logistics arevery big inconveniences. you are most likely waiting 45 min+ for a taxi when the fight lets out.
I haven't rooted for Cotto in any fight since the Margacheato rematch. But I sure as shit am rooting for him in this one.
They both do for getting huge paydays for not fighting the best guy in the division. Canelo wins. Good fight, but Canelo is fresher, a bit sharper, and will get the benefit in close rounds. I don't think either gets a stoppage. Probably an 8-4 type fight with one judge having it even. Then, everyone will wonder if they can sell the rematch to keep GGG out of the picture.
Regardless of what really happens inside the ring, the judges will have Canelo ahead in the scorecards. Remember when C.J. Ross had the Floyd vs Canelo fight a draw?
I'm no Canelo fan, but his resume and his win over Lara makes him deserving of a big payday. At least muh more deserving than a lots of ''big'' name in boxing. The guy is nothing special, but you have to respect is willingness to fight the best.
His fucking resume.......:: Mosley....:: 39 year old Shane....:: Fucking Alan Ladd had a better chance.
Who else is there.....................fucking Matt Hatton and Ryan Rhodes.....you do know Rhodes was blasted out by a clubfighter called Jason Matthews in 1990 fucking 9... <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/wOE0HI_x9TI?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I met Jason Matthews, I think it was just a few months after he lost his first fight to that Hungarian guy who was always knocking around on the UK domestic circuit (forget his name), really cool bloke. Was glad he managed to go on and do this and get his hands on a world title belt. The guy could really hit though. Whatever happened to him after he lost to Krajnc?
jj I remember this phase because it was just about the time that I was getting my hands on boxing magazines and what have you. Rhodes had gone to the States and lost a decision to Otis Grant, who was just too seasoned for him. Otis Grant went on to be outclassed by Roy Jones. Otis Grant had a pal called Hercules Kyevelos who was blasted out in a round by Hands of Stone {Margarito, not Duran} I think the Hungarian was called Lazlo Bognar or something. He was used by Rhodes to get over the Grant loss, and Rhodes stopped him on a body shot. Then Rhodes fought Matthews and got wasted. I have no idea what happened to Matthews after he lost to the Slovenian-Swede, but I do recall that Joe Calzaghe beat him in a round in the ABA's.
He stopped Miguel's brother (and for a moment almost got exposed in the process ::) and now is payback time for Cotto. check 1:30 mn to see how the iron chin of Canelo turns to butter <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/vanP8itF8rQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Fucking Cotto.....why is he such a dumb maricon...IMO making Ginger fight at 154 is more beneficial for Cotto......Cotto is NOT a true 160...so he will come in at 156-157...While Ginger has probably struggle for a while to make 154....making 160 will be easy n to his benefit. Still Cotto by UD...
