Which are all preferable to your two favorite artistic limelights, Kenny G and Irish O'Mallarkey Drunkenroarke.

Gone Girl - Probably the best movie I've seen this year, though that's not saying much. Nice story, pace, acting and I liked the soundtrack enough that I'm going to download it at some point. Also pretty much all the characters in the film were well acted and well rounded. There was almost nobody in the film who I can think of that gave a bad performance. What I really loved though, was the ending. I kind of predicted it right before it happened and I loved that ending so much I actually started doing a slow clap before my girlfriend grabbed my hands lol. I don't think the replay value is very strong and overall not a great film but definitely a very good one. I liked it better than Interstellar.
    7.5/10

I watched like 15 minutes of it and turned off the tv. Maybe I wasn't in a mood for a downbeat creepy looking main character in a depressing story.

I was actually pretty tired the night i watched it and most evenings that means i'll either fall asleep or turn it off and watch another time. His character is indeed creepy but not in standard way. It comes more from his interactions with people and how he finds a way to rationalize everything he does and convince others of same. He's basically an ambitious sociopath. There is a social commentary that's depressing, but that's because of the subject matter and reality itself. I didn't find that it brought the film down because of it. I don't expect everyone to like it let alone rate it as high as i did but it's worth a watch.

chonking sounds like something negative unlike something more positive like...

    The King Of Kong 7.5/10

An entertaining docu-drama about various nerdy dudes competing earnestly for the highest score ever on a Donkey Kong game (the actual arcade version from the early 80s) ... Definite good guy/bad guy dynamic. Includes a memorable scene featuring one of the bad guy's most pathetic, dorky sycophants doing all he can to sabotage the good guy upstart, essentially pwning himself for all time as one of the most transparent, passively churlish, uber-nerds ever recorded on film... Truly odd, awkward, dorky people who take this shit as serious as cancer... I've heard that there are some inaccuracies on this, but I don't care enough about the subject to be concerned... Definitely enjoyable for a casual viewer with no attachment to arcades.

Rewatched some oldies with my daughters:

Cool Runnings one f my favorite sport comedies 8/10

    BATMAN
still more entertaining than all the Nolan films. Gothan City looks exactly like the crime infested city from the comicbooks and not like New York or Chicago like in the newer films. Michael Keaton IS Batman and his Bruce Wayne had more depth than Christian Bale. Nicholson as the Joker is still fun to watch. 9/10

    Beverly Hills Cop
ok I have to admit I had never watched this one before. Never had any interest. After watching it I found it okay, but not memorable at all. Murphy was good in this by-the-numbers predictable film. 6.5/10

    The Silence of The Lambs
Remains a very effective thriller. Hopkins performance was simply marvelous and Jodie Foster was powerful. Great film. 9.5/10

Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of James Bond 007
This is the best documentary ever done on the James Bond saga. Nothing is hidden: all the behind the scenes drama and backstabbings are revealed here. Main emphasis on the franchise original producers, their dealings with Flemming, studios, hiring actors, legal battles, the Connery feud, all the Bond actors interviewed (except Connery of course). Lots of trivia and fascinating anecdotes (did you know that George Lazenby had absolutely zero acting experience prior landing the role of Bond and got it by inventing a false career that impressed the producers?). Highly recommended for all film fans and Bond fans alike. 8/10

In the last week I've watched both "Pompeii" and the Kellen Lutz version of "Hercules".

Both are comedic masterpieces on par with "The Happening" and "Pathfinder".

8/10 for those with a sense of humor

2/10 for those sad sacks who do not
