Rondo has peaked. He's still a well above average starting PG, but he's no longer even top 10 at the position.

Curry, Westbrook, CP3, Wall, Lowry, Lillard, Conley, Dragic, Teague, Lawson.

That's 10 PG's right there who are better than Rondo at this point.

Rondo at this point is on the same level as a Jrue Holiday.

we shall see. he might be rejuvenated by returning to a contender. i admit i aint watched the guy play lately but he's surrounded by a cast of bums and was coming off a bad injury.

PG is so deep right now, that even if he's rejuvenated, he'll still never reach the elite.

Chris Paul has ALWAYS been better than him.

Curry, Westbrook, and Wall are better right now than Rondo EVER was. By a wide margin too.

Lowry at the level he's playing at right now is better than Rondo ever was, but we'll see if Lowry can maintain this level all year.

I'd also say that Mike Conley thus far this year is better than Rondo ever was, but we'll see if he maintains it as well.

Pretty fun watching a 167 year old Duncan dominating a prime Aldridge.

I'd put Bledsoe, Parker, and Irving at the same level or above also. I will say that he could be the Rondo of old, but things such as a 33% FT?? That's just downright unacceptable for a professional basketball player.

I don't think he's ever gonna be the Rondo of old anymore, simply because he's a step slower now than he was in his physical prime. And guards don't ever really regain their peak quickness once it goes.

When Damian Lillard is "on", this guy is truly something fuckin special.

I'm ASHAMED of myself that I said a few years ago that Irving had a brighter future than Lillard.

Lillard, Curry, and WB are the only 3 PG's that are truly unstoppable scorers when they're on.

Dominating? Nah. Aldridge came up with some huge stops on Duncan in the final OT.

Rondo looked good in there. Mavs are gonna be so much more fun to watch with him serving those dishes.

Monta Ellis has come a long way. At one point, he was seen as a cancer. But he's proven that he's a good team player, and in the right system can flourish.

He wasn't a right fit for the Warriors anymore, because Curry came into his own as a superstar. And he also wasn't right playing with the Bucks, alongside Brandon Jennings, who's just a toxic chucker.

In Dallas, he's perfect because he shoulders a lot of the offensive load that an aging Dirk can no longer handle.

Josh Smith waived. Houston, Mavs, Clippers, Kings and Heat interested in his inefficient ass.

Rondo's ONLY 28, if REED's Not Mistaken...REED Would Wait Until the END of this Season Before Jumping to the Conclusion of Him No Longer Being Top 10...

He was on a SHIT Team in Boston, a Perennial LOTTERY Team & Indifference Set In...

I really thought Josh Smith was going to turn out better then he did. He helped me win a bunch Fantasy titles filling up the stat sheets in lots of peripheral categories. Usually the couple things he was weak at were categories I was tanking in already.

He never really improved upon his first few years in Atlanta. If anything he just became less and less efficient, as he was supposed to be maturing.

Not Soooooo Looooooooooong Ago, Rajon Rondo was Easily the Most COMPLETE Point Guard in the NBA...

1st & Foremost, he's a TRUE Pass 1st PG in a League Morphing into More of an Interchangeable/COMBO Guard Approach...Assists, Rebounds, Points, Steals, DEFENSE, PLAYMAKING Ability, FLOOR GENERALSHIP, FACILITATING, that's Rondo...

Chris Paul is Really the Only Other ELITE PG, Currently, that Fits this Description...Yeah, he Is & Always WAS Better than Rondo, but Not Defensively...

Remains to Be Seen what Rondo will Do w/the Mavs, but it Wouldn't Surprise REED @ All if he Retook his Spot as the League's Most COMPLETE PG...

Given that NBA Contracts are GUARANfuckingTEED, it Speaks VOLUMES that Detroit was Willing to Flat Out WAIVE Josh Smith, LESS than 2 Full Years Into his New Deal...

Smith is TALENTED as Hell, but his DRIVE has Always Been Questionable...Even his Decision to LEAVE a Better Team in Atlanta, for More Money in Detroit, Puzzled REED...Smith's Good Enough to Get 1 Last Chance w/Someone, but he'd Better CORRECT Whatever is Going On, in this Next Contract he Signs for...

Houston seems to be the strongest candidates to land Smith. The problem is McHale is not the kind of coach that could put the reins on a player like Smith.

Hopefully, just being in a better situation on a better team playing next to the best man at his wedding in Howard, will be enough. At 2mill, I sure as hell don't mind finding out.

Now Houston will have a better defensive second unit. I wouldn't start Smith.

"True PG" is THE most overrated term in basketball brah.

Rondo is an elite player, but at the end of the day, he's a NEGATIVE as a scorer. And that MATTERS.

Curry's a GOOD player. Not an elite one like Rondo, but WELL ABOVE average as a playmaker. And he's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than Rondo as a shooter and scorer, that it simply makes him a far superior basketball player.

I think any GM in the league would straight up laugh if they were asked who'd they rather have on their team, Curry or Rondo.

Depends on the system. Curry is the primary scorer on GS, but he can't run plays in the half court as good as Rondo. Rondo does so many things so well that it makes up for his offensive shortcomings. Curry ain't exactly gary Payton either when it comes to defense, and that matters too.

I think the Lebron from his first tenure with the Cavs would lead this team out the east. Lebron's in slow decline, and isn't an unstoppable scorer now the way he was 4 years ago.

How Can an APPROPRIATE Term Be "Overrated"???:dunno:...

If You WATCH Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul or Rajon Rondo Play PG, it's Entirely DIFFERENT than they Way Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, Steph Curry, Damian Lillard & Others Play the Position, Is it Not???...The Latter Names are COMBO Guards, Meaning they're Every Bit as Much SHOOTING Guards as they are TRUE Pass 1st Point Guards...

NATHAN "Overrated" about the Term @ All...

When EXACTLY Did REED Say Rondo was "Better" than Steph Curry???...Curry's the Better PLAYER, but he's Not Necessarily the Better FIT, for Every Single Team...On a Squad like the Mavs w/Monta Ellis, Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons & Tyson Chandler, THE LAST Thing they Need is a PG Averaging 25 a Game...A Cat like Rondo, w/his 10pts Per and a LEAGUE LEADING 11 Dimes Per, is EXACTLY What they Need...

Ditto for PG's like Rondo & Chris Paul Being BETTER Fits for a Team like the Clippers, than Curry, Westbrook, Rose, Lillard, etc., Would Be...

Again, Curry's BETTER Overall, but there's a Whole OTHER Side of the Court You're Failing to Acknowledge, Called DEFENSE, where Curry CANNOT TOUCH Rondo...

No arguments with me here. I never suggested Rondo WASN'T beneficial in certain systems.

But in the NBA being a sub par offensive player is far more than being a mediocre defender.

Curry's D isn't Gary Payton, but he's not Steve Nash bad either.

Rondo is the most pathetic shooting top PG there's ever been, and it's not even close.

Plus, let's be COMPLETELY honest......... he looovvveesss to pad his assists, much the way Love loovvved to pad his rebounds with the Wolves.

Not saying Rondo isn't an elite playmaker, but he's turn over prone, and isn't exactly GOAT like as a decision maker.

Generally, Rondo is a guy that's always been overrated. Overrated because he's hyped like a star, when in fact he's just a very good role player.

And I don't think he would have EVER gotten that star hype if not for KG, Ray Ray, and Pierce.

If not for them, he'd be considered exactly what he is.

Mike Conley for example is plain and simple a better basketball player than Rondo, yet has never received HALF the hype.

Scoring Produces More HYPE, ie., Commercials, Jersey Sales, etc., but in Terms of CHAMPIONSHIP Caliber Basketball, it's Definitely NOT the Be All to End All...

w/Out Hall of Famer, Dennis Rodman, the "Bad Boy" Pistons NEVER Win a Championship...w/Out Ben Wallace, the Early 00's Pistons NEVER Win a Championship Either...w/Out Dikembe Mutombo, Allen Iverson & the Sixers NEVER Make it to the Finals...

On that Note, w/Out Rondo, the KG, P Squared, Ray-Ray Celtics NEVER Win a Championship...There's STILL Something to Be Said for the PURE Facilitator, Bro...There's ALWAYS Going to Be NBA Squads LOADED w/Scorers, that will REQUIRE Pass 1st PG's like Rondo, to Flourish...

Who's BETTER All Time, Carmelo Anthony or Jason Kidd???...2 EFFECTIVE Players on OPPOSITE Ends of the Basketball Spectrum...Who's BETTER???...

Steph Curry's MUCH Closer to Steve Nash than Gary Payton, Defensively...& REED is a FAN of Steph's...There's NOT 5 Guys in the NBA REED Enjoys Watching Play More...But Facts is Facts; he AIN'T Guarding Anybody...His Fellow Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, Almost Always Gets the TOUGHER Perimeter Assignment, Defensively...

As REED Types, Yeah, Mike Conley's BETTER than Rondo...But Again, Allow Time to SEE how Rondo Performs w/Championship Caliber Talent Around Him, the Remainder of this Season...Present Day Conley ISN'T as Good as THE BEST Rondo we've Seen, However...
