I don't think Cormier is going to be a difficult fight for Jones.

The overwhelming popular opinion points to Cormier's wrestling creating big problems for Jones.

Personally I can't get past Jon Jones having a 1 foot reach advantage. That, combined with his ability to fight "long", will neutralize Cormier's wrestling.

Cormier closes distance quickly but I just don't see him being effective with his wrestling or striking at the range Jones will be able to dictate.

My only hesitation with picking Jones is the fact that he loves to beat fighters at their own game. He wrestled with Sonnen. He boxed with Glover. Maybe he'll be cocky enough to clinch up with Cormier.

It's Cormier's hands that make the fight intriguing to me. He is accurate and he hits hard, a lot harder than Gustafsson. I also think he is the first guy, perhaps ever, who is physically stronger than Jones at this weight and who has the tools and skills to utilize that advantage.

I hardly ever put much, if any, weight on prefight antics, but I do think Jones is acting differently for this fight and I think he may be uncertain going into a fight for the first time ever.

Cormier has the speed and athleticism to get inside Jones' long reach. I'm thinking a large part of this fight will be spent in the clinch and on the ground, even if Jones doesn't want to go there. This is the first time since I started watching Jones that I'm not sure about picking him to win.

Hope it will be a good fight. My interest in MMA has been steadilly and drastically declining in the last few years. This is one of the few fights that could re-ignite my love for the sport.

REED Loooooooooooves that COMPETITIVE ARROGANCE in Jones...He Takes his Opponents SOULS from Them...But Yeah, it Could BITE him in the Ass Eventually, if he's Not Careful...

He Should Look to Wear Cormier Down 1st, w/Strikes...Swell his Face Up, Discourage Him, THEN Outwrestle Him, Somewhere Around the 3rd or 4th Round...

The Only "Difference" REED's Noticed in Bones' Behavior is he Seems to REALLY Dislike Cormier...

Considering Jones is Already as VIOLENT as they Come, it'll Be Interesting to See How he Fights in this Instance...

REED's Elaborated on the Inner "Whiteboy" in Cormier, in the Past...

It's NOT a Good/Bad, Better/Worse Type of Thing...It just IS what it Is...For the Looooooooooongest Time, REED has Noticed Similarities in the Actor, Sean Astin, who Played "Rudy", and Daniel Cormier...They WAY "Rudy" Speaks ISN'T Unlike the Way Cormier Speaks...

& if You Can Look Past the Obvious RACIAL Difference, there's a STRUCTURAL Similarity in Astin and Cormier, FACIALLY...Eye's, Jaw Line, Nose, etc...

REED Can't Figure Out if Cormier's the BLACK Sean Astin, or if Astin's the WHITE Daniel Cormier...

This year has been a little slow, but there have been a few great fights. This one feels like the biggest fight in years. Two potential all time greats fighting in their primes. It might be close, or it might be one sided for either guy. I just want to see what happens when they finally get to fight.

Jonathan "Bones" Jones and Daniel Cormier are both black, ie., African-American.

Cormier has some similarities to Rashad Evans. He's like Rashad-heavy. Jones' best game plan is probably to go for a safe win and try to mimic that fight. I really hope that doesn't happen. Too bad the Cormier Evans fight didn't happen prior to this fight.

REED's Got Jon Jones by 3rd-4th Round KO/Submission...

The Fight is ALL Jones Standing & REED Isn't Sooooo Sure Cormier Automatically CONTROLS the Action from the Ground, If/When the Bout Winds Up There...

The Henderson MAULING is of No Consequence Here, as Jones is Bigger, Taller, Heavier, Stronger, Younger, More VARIED in his Attack, & Considerably More DYNAMIC than Henderson...Cormier's LACK of Height Makes him Susceptible to Knees, Flying Knees, etc., Also...

Daniel Cormier Will Have a Moment or 2 Early, but the Bottom Line is, Jon Jones Can TAKE a Shot (as Proven vs. Glover Texiera) & his Own Wrestling is VERY Underrated...If Jones OUTwrestles Cormier in ANY Capacity (Stuffing Takedowns, Scoring Takedowns, Maintaining TOP Control for Stretches of Time, etc.), it'll Definitely MINDFUCK Cormier...

As Is, it's Already Going to Be an UPHILL Battle, just for Cormier to Get INSIDE of Jones' Length and Range...

This is true. Anthony has picked Cormier to beat Jones since before chubby ever cut down to 205.

By the way, this is the type of bad blood fight that shatters the loser if they lose badly. If this is a one-sided beat down by either guy, the loser is done as a top tier fighter.

Rather than repost the same sentiment far less articulately, I'll just endorse everything in this post. A 1 foot reach disadvantage is the absolute most telling factor in this fight.

Decision or Jones quitting. But I favor decision. Obviously one cant count out Jon Jones. He is already one of the greatest. If he wins this fight, there is just nothing else to say about the man. But i think The Black Emperor (What Cormier's nick name should be) will win.

I'm rooting for Lombard / Marquardt / Cowboy / DC tonight. I don't know the flyweights on the main card.

I'm not betting on Cormier, but I hope he wins tonight. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jones put on a virtuoso performance like he's done so many times before.
