Harry Kane looks the real deal, time will tell obviously but he is toying with the Chelshit defence

Yeah read it on the RTE website whilst trying to figure how the fuck to get out of the shithole that is Ireland and back to the shithole that is England.

    Shitholes.

It's a sad day, he really was our very own Roy of the Rovers.
Shame about the league but a few Fa Cups, Coca Cola Cups, Uefa Cup & Champions league is not a bad return.

Seems to be a lot of debate as to whether Gerrard was a great player or not. A premier league great and Liverpool great for sure, but I'd still have him a level below the likes of Scholes and Keane. Still not sure who I'd say was better out of him and Lampard. People talk about 2005 and he was sensational from the second half onwards, but I think much of that was down to Hamann coming on to protect the hole and giving Gerrard a license to play further up the pitch. At times though he did seem like he could win games on his own (FA Cup final v West Ham 2006 being the most obvious example) and push seemingly average Liverpool sides to great heights. Unfortunately he also had a penchant for making crucial mistakes at the worst possible times, the slip against Chelsea, the own goal in the 2005 Carling Cup final v Chelsea, the back pass to Henry against France in 2004, the header which set up Suarez in the WC... Every footballer makes mistakes, but Gerrards always seemed to happen at the most crucial and inopportune moments, I guess to be a great you have to take risks though. He's a tough one to rank.

Good post, Slice, laddie - he is tough tae judge but Ah'd certainly place Gerrard above Keane, like.

Yep, he was great to watch at his best but he had guys like Alonso alongside him. He was never able to do it for England.
