Fortunate we Have Romo, Murray, Witten & Dez, as Opposed to GAY Cutler, Forte, Marty B & Bi-Polar Marshall/Alshon???... agREED... REED:Bad:
Yeah, I saw that when it happened, did a double take and had to rewind to make sure I saw what I thought I saw. The fucks the governor of New Jersey doing in the middle of a Dallas Cowboys circle jerk? I'll eat my own shit if that bloated pig carcass doesn't make a run for president.
There was No Call at All, Nevermind a "Bad" One...Pettigrew Grabbed Hitchens' Facemask... No Call on the Play, Period...On to Green Bay... REED
Cowgirls were handed that win on a silver platter That's a pass interference call in the modern NFL 100% of the time
Last season the Panthers beat the Patriots on Monday night with a similar call. The difference was no flag was thrown. Can't say I've ever seen a flag thrown, yards marked off then flagged picked up then yards walked back...with no explanation. Secondly, Dez Bryant ran onto the field sans helmet and stood directly in front of a ref. THAT should have been an unsportsmanlike conduct flag regardless of the pass interference call. That flag would have given the Lions a 1st down inside the 30 yard line. Put those two together it's cause to shake your head about home cooking.
What about Bryant on the field without his helmet...standing directly in front of the ref. That certainly should have been 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. Bryant was on the field protesting before the flag was picked up.
The Lions certainly didn't help themselves with the shanked punt and other penalties; however, this play will probably go down as the Cowboy equivalent to the Raven's 4th and 28 1/2 when it was 4th and 29 the season they won the Super Bowl. Ear mark this play. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/04/cowboys-avoided-another-penalty-on-disputed-play/ In addition to the decision of the officials to throw the flag but ultimately not enforce a pass interference call against Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens, Dallas avoided a second penalty on the play. After the flag was thrown, Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant sprinted to the field without a helmet to argue the call loudly with the officials. Bryant wasn’t penalized for the move, which would have given the Lions 15 yards and a first down, extending a drive when the Lions led, 20-17. Ultimately, the Lions should have had a first down inside the Dallas 15, since the penalty on Hitchens should have given the Lions the ball at the 29, and then the Lions should have been awarded half the distance on the Bryant penalty. Instead, the Lions took a delay-of-game call on fourth and one, moving the ball from the Dallas 46 to the Detroit 49. Then, a 10-yard shank punt gave the Cowboys the ball on their own 41, 49 yards from the game-winning touchdown. Still, even without the Hitchens penalty, the Lions should have had a first down on the Dallas 26, because Dez Bryant should have received a personal foul for inexplicably running onto the field without a helmet at a time when the defense was playing.
The flag was picked up because no penalty was committed. The defender didn't make any contact with the receiver until AFTER the ball hit the defender in the back. The notion that the defender has to turn around and make a play on the ball is tied to the old face guarding rule, which is no longer a penalty in the NFL. In the NFL, you can do exactly what Hitchens did and it should not be flagged. I say "should not be flagged" because it is still mistakenly penalized all the time in the NFL.
It was a bad call in a game full of bad calls and bad non calls. But the PI call then non call was especially bad, even more so in this era when refs call PI on everything. Regardless, to me the blame for the loss goes on the Lions for not going for it on a 4th and very make-able one, and then the punter completely shanking it. That's inexcusable in playoff football. Right now, here are the spreads of the games... Pats -7 Ravens Seattle -11 Panthers Packers -6.5 Cowboys Denver -7 Indy I'd only put money on 2 games. I think Seattle is gonna spank Carolina, and I like Indy straight up with the money line (+280) TFK
To me there's more controversy in the way it was handled than anything else. I can live with it being a non-call...which is why I cited the Panthers-Patriots game last year. Secondly, none of that excuses no call on Bryant running onto the field. I'm sure the refs didn't know it at the time but Bryant has been flagged for that before. Players taking off their helmet on the field is a no no. It's an immediate flag. An offensive guy on the field with no helmet when his defense is on the field is certainly flag worthy.
I stand by the quotes, at the time they were hilarious. I didn't for a second subscribe to the notion that being down by a couple touchdowns in the 1st quarter should end the game. The comically flawed Romo proved to the be the inferior quarterback out there, playing on the far superior team.
Nah... When the Offensive Player Grabs the Facemask of the Defender, PULLING the Defender into Him, it's NOT Pass Interference... The Video REED Posted Clearly Illustrates This, So Stop Hating and Enjoy Watching OTHER Teams in the Playoffs, PISSburg Lover.... REED
What IMPACT Did Dez have on the Game at that Point???... Sure, a Flag COULD have been Thrown, but it's at the Ref's Discretion...It's NOT like "America's Team", YOUR Dallas Cowboys Gained Some Type of Unfair Advantage by that Instance, Which was a DEAD BALL Scenario, FYI. REED
Call on the field was pass interference and there was no reason to overturn it... but even if there were, Dez Bryant's non-existent penalty would have rendered the point moot... The Lions were robbed
Your Logic is LOST on this Crowd...Haters Gonna Hate... There'll Be EXCUSES This Time Next Week as Well, if we Beat Green Bay.... REED:mj:
Sure it was. But like I said, that was just one terrible non call in a game with a few of them, and it wasn't the reason Detroit lost the game. TFK
The FACT the Receiver was Literally GRABBING the Friggin' FACEMASK of the Defender, SHITTED on the Pass Interference Call, Dude... Beyond That, the Dez Situation is @ the Ref's DISCRETION...It was a DEADfuckingBALL & the Refs were Conferring...The Refs COULD have Thrown a Flag There, but Let's NOT Pretend that's an ABSOLUTE Situation, Because it Isn't... NOBODY Got Robbed..."America's Team", YOUR Dallas Cowboys ADVANCED...Something Omar Epps and the Rest of your PISSburg Lovers FAILED to Do... Best of Luck in the NFL Draft, LOSER!!!... REED:nana:
No, it was Not... As Trplsec Noted, the Face Guarding Rule has Changed...BEYOND That, the Intended Receiver had His Hand on the FACEMASK of the Defender... How EXACTLY is that a PI???... REED:dunno:
....While McDogg, Omar Epps, Tupac, their Co-Stars from "Juice" & the PISSburg Thieves WATCH from Home... REED:Bad:
Before a Man Can VIE for America's Presidency, he Must 1st VIE for Bandwagon Membership with America's TEAM...YOUR Dallas Cowboys... Welcome Aboard, Guv'nor!!!... REED:bravo:
So if you're saying the pass interference call should have been negated by the illegal hands to the face that was never called, then you certainly must agree that the hands to the face call would have been negated by a clear defensive holding penalty that also wasn't called. You can see it here about 8 seconds in.... TFK
