DC Comments on Jones. "I am aware of Jon's test and if there is anything to say it is this: there are a lot of people you impact, so please let's get it together. Good luck on your rehab!"
non issue, unless cocaine can be used as a masking agent (wich would raise a couple of flags). The rehab is only pr bullshit imo.
No Biggie.... Let's Not Forget, 4-5 Years Ago, Jon Jones was NOBODY...He's Still Fairly NEW to Celebrity, Fame & The TRAPPINGS that Come w/It & he Obviously Fucked Up... Not Loooooooooooong After WINNING the Title, he was Driving Drunk w/2 Bitches in the Car & Got Into an Accident...This is Another MINOR Slip Up... REED:mj:
i dunno about a minor slip up. i would be worried about jones getting into cocaine. if it showed up in the piss test it means he was sniffing pretty close to the fight. that shit dont stay in your system long
Clearly, Jones "Likes the SMELL" of Cocaine, but he's Faaaaaaaaaaaaar Toooooooooo Cognizant of his IMAGE to Be an ADDICT, in REED's Opinion... Time will Tell... REED:mj:
It's not healthy, but this shouldn't matter in combat sports. Cocaine isn't a performance enhancing drug at all. More like the opposite. I hope he quits though. This is something that could ruin his career if he lets it get out of control. It's not like smoking pot to relax after a training session.
Ok so basically Jones was caught with coke in his system during an out of competition test. In his piss test after the fight there was nothing found in his system. That is why he is not suspended. If he was caught with coke in his system during the fight, he would have fucked.
How EXACTLY Does Using Cocaine ENHANCE the Performance of a Professional Athlete, in his Chosen Sport???... REED:dunno:
It varies with everyone, but it's a stimulant. You could potentially run longer, fight longer, fuck longer, Can numb and make pain more tolerable. It basically gives a shit load of Energy and increases your altertness and awareness of your senses.
Have you tried strenuous exercise on coke? It might feel like it's helping for the first 15 minutes, then you crash and need more. It completely takes away your cardio endurance while you're on it. Ask me how I know this. :) Jones tested positive a month before the fight, from what I read. He wasn't actually on it during the fight.
I realize the effects, but again, people are different. And yeah, he failed and out of competition test. that is what i typed earlier. He wasnt on it during the fight. But he was definately on it while he was training.
I agree about fucking longer and having a higher threshhold for pain. It doesn't let you run longer or fight longer, unless you were in shit shape to begin with and you have the option of doing another line every 15 minutes. Long term, it tears up your sinuses and esophagus and damages your heart. It can have lasting detrimental effects on your cardio endurance, not just detrimental effects when you're on it.
Long term, I agree, but short term it could be pretty amazing. 15 minutes for you could be 20 minutes for someone else.
The long term thing was what I was worried about with Jones. He could be the best fighter in MMA for years to come, or he could be damaged and past his prime before he's 30 if he does too much coke. I haven't touched it myself since 2006. I still get uncomfortable cravings just talking about it or seeing it. I never let it get out of control, personally, but the cravings are still there after all this time. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
so when did he take the pre fight piss test? the week of the fight Im guessing that means he was sniffing recently and it couldve helped him during training
He failed the test on December 4th. They let him fight anyway because that metabolite of cocaine isn't a banned substance in MMA unless it's still in his system for the fight.
I really hope it's just a short thing and i actually hope he is in rehab. The man has the world at his hands, but he is still young and immature
But why is he in rehab? That confirms an addiction, right? Which means he could've been snorting during training/fight week.
Well if he failed Dec 4 he was getting high at least 2 months, if not 6 weeks away from the biggest/toughest fight of his career. To me that signals a serious problem
Rehab could be real or just for show. Celebrities do that a lot, go to rehab when they get caught even if they aren't addicted. Tiger Woods didn't exactly have an addiction when he went to rehab.
