Cotto right now beats Canelo, possibly stops him late... They could fight in June in the second biggest fight of the year...This is the fight Cotto needs in his career, huge payday before he goes into rematches with Floyd and Pacquaio when those two are done fighting each other...Perfect timing for him.
In an ideal world, Floyd vs Pac happens on May 5th with Cotto-Canelo on the undercard. That would be extra huge, but will never happen as both fights can do big numbers on seperate shows.
The only way I can see Cotto avoiding Alvarez is if he thinks by doing so he'll get Mayweather. If that doesn't happen I'm pretty sure he'll fight Canelo as it's the next biggest money fight out there for him.
