I've never actually favoured Pacquiao head to head but I have to laugh @ "mismatch".

That means you'd have to credit the chap who wins 11 rounds if they magically fought. Even now

    Just my opinion.

Up until now it's been as pointless as discussing the Loch Ness monster vs Godzilla. No one knows what would happen until they actually fight.

I don't see either of those being much of an issue for Floyd. Floyd's going to be the taller fighter with the longer reach. Manny can bounce around on the outside all he wants, Floyd can hang back in the pocket and wait for Manny to come to him. Floyd isn't known for getting into too many exchanges.

Even at this point, Floyd's footwork, timing and defense would allow him to neutralize most of Manny's attacks. This won't be like Manny's fights with Bradley...who is basically Manny's height and has the same reach. Bradley is a wide puncher, Manny could beat him to the punch with straight punches.

Barring one great shot from Manny, I see Floyd picking Manny apart from a safe distance. Probably not knocking him out but winning a wide boring decision. Like Neil said, if you win 11 rounds that is a mismatch.

Maybe Manny wins 4 rounds tops with Floyd cruising to a UD, his legacy cleared and $120 mil plus richer and the Biotch still is hesitant to sign...it's like removing an old band aid... just wank it out!

It won't be easy but record another win, stay undefeated and move on to the hall of fame with your name and legacy cleared...SIGN the contract!

Pac's way more flatfooted these days, i think Floyd probably does dominate him

Agreed, not really sure why anyone thinks that, given Floyd's trouble with Judah and Corley, and that Pacquiao is on another stratosphere to those 2.

I know, and that's fine, it just kind of surprises me, given what I just said to whiskey.

He had a close fight with Cotto and Maidana, you really think he dominates Pacquiao?

I know styles make fights, but I don't see it.

I always rated Pacquiao's chances against Floyd because of his sheer speed, mobility and unpredictability, rather than power. And unfortunately 2 and 3 have dissipated a bit.

He is also more of a patient boxer these days, which does fall right into Floyd's hands. The old Pacquiao with his constant unpredictable movement, and high volume of power shots from all positions would have had a great chance against Floyd.

But still, Pacquiao is still too good and too fast to be dominated, even if Floyd's range and timing does net him a decision. I expect a competitive fight.

I think the window has passed for Manny to actually beat Floyd (and he did have a legit chance back then), but he can still give him a tough fight. The fire has dimmed a fair bit, he hasn't had a single stoppage this decade.

Normally the rematch with Cotto would sell a little over a mil, but not now...the timing is off. People will see but will not buy the fight they don't want to see right now...

Stop the bullshit, as a great FIGHTER and philosopher once said "Don't be afraid homie".
    SIGN the contract Floyd.

    Here's a scenario...

Floyd rematches Cotto, takes the 160 title.

In his farewell fight he fights GGG and wins.

Does that absolve him for not fighting Manny?

No. They are 2 seperate things. Pacquiao is to Floyd what Duran is to Leonard, or should have been.

If Leonard shamelessly ducked Duran and Hearns, that wouldn't have been forgiven by him fighting and beating Hagler. He should have fought all of them, and he did.

 the first fight sold 1.5 million and now cotto is the middleweight champion coming off perhaps his biggest career victory. and with roach some are claiming he has a better chance to win. it will eclipse the sales from the first PPV

Not sure if it will be a bigger fight this time around. Especially with the noise about the Pac fight (again) in the national sports media there could be a boycott of Mayweather events.

Plus, just as before, he's using pacquiao and the possibility of a fight with him to promote a fight with cotto.

I'm hoping that's not what this pacquiao talk is about (selling his fight with someone else), but history suggests it is.
