Interstellar getting so-so reviews

Only 72% on rotten tomatoes. Damn, that is in the same range as stinkers like 'Camp X-ray' & 'Box trolls'. Even 'John Wick' got way better reviews. The main beef with critics is the plot: some say there are plot holes bigger than black holes and that Nolan in his effort to make an 'overstuffed' 'important movie' forgot to make it 'entertaining' and that 'makes sense'. Critics are divided between those that loved it and those that totally hated it. Some even are predicting that it will bomb (I doubt it), but it sure is the worst reviewed film by Nolan so far.

I'll wait for the online streaming to judge by myself.

Interstellar is going to be a major bomb. The movie made a disappointing $800,000 on thursday.

Predictors were saying both Interstellar and Big Hero 6 will open north of $50 million each. The Disney animated film got a 90% fresh on rottentomatoes which can put this one to become the #1 film this weekend.

THe only gripes im hearing are that it doesn't connect with the audience in an emotional level. But i heard it's still a damn good film regardless.

It was pretty good. It is like the movie Contact. Ending tries too hard IMO. Still worth watching and I may watch it again, but INCEPTION was much much better.

I saw it. Comparing it to "Contact" is fair.

It made "Prometheus" look like a masterpiece. Should be renamed "Inter(notso)stellar."

There's a reason a Disney film gets 90% while a drama gets only 72% on rottentomatoes. It's because Rottentomatoes is frequented by a bunch of teenagers and kids. On IMDB Interstellar sits at a 90% while BH6 is at 84%.

Interstellar has made $321 milyon after only two weekends. The movie will be a big box-office success.

Interstellar Better than what detractors were saying, but not as great as the Nolanites nuthuggers were saying either. The movie is quite watchable even though it wastes over an hour just to launch into space and out of the not-so-great earth story pace. Once ‘Alright Alright Alright Alright’ is in orbit is when things start getting interesting (if you can bypass the pseudoscience mumbo jumbo jargon), but unfortunately gets frequently cut to ’meanwhile back on lame earth’ scenes. The acting is good and the story, while not perfect, is interesting. At the end when everything looked like it was going to turn into a highly emotional serious dramatic fate for our heroes, we face the old story telling lazy cliché of ‘the mysterious unknown force’ that plagued many storylines in 60s & 70’s tv series like “Space: 1999” influenced by Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey” to which ‘Interstellar’ derived a lot. Nolan creates nice visuals, but apparently was too enamored with his characters that couldn’t do a better editing job since the film could have been much better if it was 30 to 40 minutes shorter. The ending left the door open for a sequel which I will not mind watching, but can live without it too. This one is only one viewing worth. 7/10

The film made only $186 million domestically. $671 million worldwide. Is a solid blockbuster, but made less than Inception ($825 million worldwide).

Mission To Mars was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

At one time it was one of my favorites. I actually really liked that one and Red Planet.

It was ridiculously long and I watched the whole thing so I can say that yes it entertained me somehow, just can't put my finger on why. Throughout the movie I was thinking earth looks way better than every one of these shitholes they'd best just stick with it.

One thing is the movie actually did a really good job at portraying time-travel without getting stuck in the whole 'chicken or the egg' loop that every other time travel movie inevitably devolves to - it effectively 'closed the loop' which was a first in my book! The ending did get extra-retarded though.
