Before I came to London, I always thought "West London" meant posh.

To me, living here for over 2 years now, its three in July......West London is the most dangerous place on Earth.

Ladbroke Grove, Southwall, Hayes, Yeading, Wembley, South Harrow, Houslow, Acton Town to Terminal 5 and Slough............all lethal.

Ah once saw two laddies singing 'You're just too good to be true' through traffic cones across the street tae each other no' far from Leicester Square.

Whit is it that attracts drunks tae traffic cones, like? Mind Ye, Ah once took a swing at a cast iron plant pot - missed - then took another brutish shot...

    ...the plant pot won.

Ladbroke Grove is a weird place, the dirt poor and the disgustingly rich sometimes literally living on the same street. Some of those houses are amongst the most expensive in the UK and they're directly opposite council estates. Saying that, I do like that whole area around Notting Hill, had some great nights there.

Carnival is shite. Seriously hate it. Last time I went though I knew this American girl whose company had provided her with a flat on Ladbroke Grove for the six months she was here, so I could watch it from above. The carnival was still shite but it was a good night.

Ah ok, I thought maybe your pops lived in London at one point. (obviously not around when that photo was taken) Some of the slum lodging houses on Dorset street in London were owned by Irishmen.

Yep, doss houses. Apparently Dorset street was referred to by a lot of locals as simply "Doss street".

When the London Dungeon used to be good, back when I was a kid, they had a replica Dorset Street you could walk through. It must have been proper fucking grim back then, as in you genuinely didn't know whether you'd be alive to see the end of the week.

By "grim back then" I meant in Victorian times, not when I was a kid, in case some smartarse comes wading in.
