For the record, I don't think he will, but IF he pulled it off and beat Mayweather, how would it affect his legacy, where would he rank all time?

I would put him in the top 3.

His fans would say that Manny was lucky that Arum didn't let him fight a prime PBF.
Fight fans will have their suspicions confirmed that PBF ducked Manny for all these years for good reason.
PBF will not want to "take anything away" from Manny, but will explain how his preparation was bad & his hands hurt.
    Manny will thank God.

Itd probably put him in the top 10. Definitely top 20.

If he did that... I'd drink a double serving of metimucil and take a big ass dump and take a pic of it and post it here for you.

It would be titled "the brown submarine "

I think he's already in the top 10.

Can you think of 10 fighters that are better than Pacquiao P4P, with accomplishments at least as good?

Its about how much 'weight' to give the weight hopping, I guess. I don't know that if i were just to rate guys based on how good he was at his best weight i'd even have Manny top 30. How do you compare what Pacquiao's achieved/proved to a Hagler or Monzon for instance? As amazing as it is, I'm not sure its really a measure of greatness per se - some guys just have body types/styles that allow for that, Pacquiao freakishly so. Obviously somebody might see things totally different.

It's interesting and telling of the public perception of both fighters that people are discussing the impact of what happens "if Manny wins." If Floyd wins, that's just what was expected.

if mayweather jr wins these chumps act like its meaningless to his legacy at this point. where as if pacquiao wins he is elevated to new heights

I would give ton of credit to Mayweather if he beats Manny. Depending on how he beats him, it probably lands him in the top 20 all time, if not higher

  15. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

yes as long as its not a disgraceful performance by mayweather jr ! ^^

If somehow pac won...I'd know that Floyd was fighting injured or maybe had the flu or measle

  17. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

Well....Floyd will be 38 at the time of the fight. He's shown some signs of aging already.

LOK I'll eat your asshole alive

Some but not much Hanzy, he is just also a much much better technical boxer. pac is fast and strong but he is little and I think wants to go be a president and eat

  19. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

True but he has shown signs regardless. And at 38, I don't think fighting Pacquaio of all people is the wisest choice. That kind of relentless high-intensity pressure/power is a lot to deal with over 12 rounds. And Floyd has been trying to dodge this fight for years for that very reason.

DisagREED on that one my brother Hanzy.

Pac Is little and when he throws he kinda lets you know and he doesn't protect his chin while he throws or returns

Floyd sees that kinda stuff better than anyone in the game. Pac is a great athlete etc but Floyd is a master in there. He will see how pac esposes himself and Floyd will dominate him like a drunken bum.

LOK my man, you best get them thoughts out your mind! You've be seeing how Floyd gettin' tagged and sh*t by Cotto and them. This is a whole new level of speed and power that he ain't dealt with.
It's like Mr.Han fighting the likes of Williams and then thinking it's gonna cut it against Bruce!

    As it Should Be...

Floyd's the A-Side, he's Favored to Win, he's the Bigger Man, he's Undefeated and MOST Already Feel he's the Best Fighter of his Era...

So Quite Naturally, a Win Would Do LESS for his Legacy than it Would for Pacquiao's...

Agreed, when I read Neil's post I basically thought "well duh"

Floyd is a 2.5 to 1 favourite, of course the underdog gets more credit for the win, he's supposed to. A significant favourite and bigger man can only get so much credit for a win, he's supposed to win.

  24. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

where would a decisive victory over pacquaio rank among mayweather jr.'s best career victories?

he is a 2.5-1 favorite now, lets see what the odds end up at. i guarantee they will be lower than that on may 2nd

it would mean more to pacquiao's legacy, but it is not a meaningless win for mayweather jr. only one guy has beaten pacquiao the past decade, and mayweather jr beat him also

  25. loadedgloves

    loadedgloves "Twinkle Toes" McJack

so basically, beating manny is no big deal because floyd is a superior fighter

  26. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

right. its like he won a rematch against carlos gerena according to fightbeat

  28. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

How much has Pacquiao slipped the past 5 years? No one has been able to deal with him except the same guy who gave him the blues 10 years ago

  29. loadedgloves

    loadedgloves "Twinkle Toes" McJack

I wonder if Pac fans realize they're sort of shitting on their own boy with statements like that

because Manny's the only one who's aged

(and Floyd's the only one who's responsible for the fight not being made earlier)

Floyd is older than Manny.. & let's be honest, Maidana does not see the distance against a younger Floyd, let alone give him a tough fight
