Does the Europa take the same consideration of how well (or poorly) a nation's team do in this competition, or do they just use the same UEFA coefficient?

It was December 2007 and Arsenal beat some Czech side to record that margin.

I'm no architect so can't comment other than to say that I think it heavy fuggly. It is a place where human detritus is collected - like a museum to the living australopithecine.

Some talk that with the huge new Sky TV deal coming into view for Premier League teams, that even champions league and definitely UEFA is not as attractive a prospect financially relatively speaking...a strange future if that becomes so

Everton are treating Young Boys the same way Jerry Sandusky does.

If you are asking if they use the same coefficient as the CL, they do. It does take into account how well they do in both competitions I believe. There was one piece of shit country that I couldn't believe how high they were rated but they had a couple of clubs do pretty well the last year or two. I think it's Cypress. The one that has a flag that looks like a fucking egg yoke. They're ranked above countries that should be way better than them.

It seems most English clubs don't really give a shit about the Europa and it's shown for years now. I think they should lose at least one spot. They should also stop letting eliminated CL teams parachute into the competition.

English teams should be banned if they have no interest in competing. And agreed on the parachute. It's ridiculous.

yeah, its on bt sports. An inflatable banana was thrown on the pitch at a black dude first half then some missles and white smokey stuff(?) after Roma scored again. The game was suspended for a while. Seemed a little overly dramatic but Feyenoord sure are thoroughbred bampots.

I think the teams in the CL are trying. They just aren't as good. Poor Man City drew Barcelona two years in a row in the R16. They still have a chance but have to pull it off in Barca. Chelsea will get through. Arsenal really fucked up. Their fans were celebrating when they drew AS Monaco and then they got rolled at the Emirates. I'm pretty sure teams like Stoke, Hull, Swansea were trying in the Europa League. They just weren't good enough. And somehow Fulham made it to the finals in 2010.

All of the teams try in CL for sure. It seems very few do in Europa however, especially from the "big leagues".

Nope. Pulis had to refund Stoke fans who travelled to the back end of beyond to watch Stoke field a reserve side in an away tie. Bruce played a similarly weaker team when they got fucked out. Fulham was an absolute fluke, but they did certainly try.

Spanish, German and Italian sides do try. Spanish sides like Atleti have won the UEFA Cup in recent years. The 'can't be arsed' thing is an English thing.

Swansea gave it a good go in the Europa League after winning the League Cup. They beat Valencia 3-0 at the Mestalla. They were unlucky to go out too.

Aye, but they weren't very good, hence they lost. Early. Fucking hell, even that mook Pardew managed to get our shambles to the QF's a few years back.

I saw bits of the Besiktas-Liverpool game. Besiktas have a few good footballers in their team. Good footwork and movement.

Rodgers left our two best midfielders this season at home- Hendo and Coutinho.

I bet he starts BOTH of them on Sunday.

He will, of course, and Coutinho better score too as I'm closing the gap in the dream team league.

Yes. 2013. Three English clubs made the quarterfinals. Newcastle went out to Benfica and Spurs went out to Basel in that round. Chelsea beat Rubin Kazan or some other Russian club and I think they went on to win it all ( year after they won the CL.) That was three days before the loss to sunderland and the riot where the fan punched a police horse. The reason I remember it all so clearly is because it all happened when I was in Liverpool. Also the same weekend that Millwall fans fought themselves at Wembley. That was a crazy trip. There was another riot in the lower leagues and Thatcher died the Friday before and there were riots from that. England was wild and unruly.

Oh, yeah. And a QPR fan stabbed an Everton fan at the game I was at but they said it had nothing to do with football.
